yeah, I applied there initially because a few from my area have gone and loved the campus and the people. I went for an interview and made up my mind right away that I would definitely apply as one of my choices. I'm hoping I get accepted there because would love to spend a day there and compare to the others before making my final decision. I can say that if I feel as comfortable the second time, it will be high on my list. The people were awesome!

How is the academics in berkshire??

They offer 16 AP Courses and teacher:student ratio is about 1:7. I liked it because they offer an outstanding array of academic and extracurricular opportunities which is equally as important to me. If I remember correctly, they focus on providing students with intellectual and moral foundations (which morals are equally important to me as smarts). It was a very unique school and their philosophy definitely is apparent when you meet the staff and faculty. Check it out if you get an opportunity - I don't think you'll be sorry at all.

I looked at their viewbook but it wasn't very impressionable, and their course listings aren't very huge. How are the buildings?

Girls dorms are new but the boys aren't that impressive. Also they're in the process of renovating quite a bit (I believe the hockey rink, math & science center and more). The classrooms are all in the main building and the rooms are good size and definitely a lot more decent than some I've seen. I guess the boys will get new dorms soon which seems like a good idea. I seen the dorm rooms and they are very dated and small. They also have a brand new sports center this year which is really nice. The library is fairly large and some areas are used for students to work individually with teachers, make up tests, etc. Overall, I would give the buildings a B-. Hope that describes it better for you.

Yeah, it does, but I'm probably still not going to apply. I think it may be too late. How were the people?

trust me its a bad idea to start looking at colleges until summer of 11th grade, have fun and worry about high school now - college is sooooooo far off, 4 years is an eternity

whose looking at colleges? People were awesome - really nice, caring, helpful and full of energy!

I was talking about hs.

ahhhh what are you ppl talking about :p talk about meeh!! :) haha just kidding

my stats are horrible, dxu33. ugh

haha about berkshire- i go there.

starting this spring they are building two brand new hockey rinks. these rinks are exactly like the rinks at middlebury college. they will be ready for use by my senior year- aka 2008. they are also starting to build new dorms. i dont kno for boys or girls, i figure boys. if u kno where the gordon rec park is, that is where they are building it. it should be ready for my senior year.

they are tearing down the hockey rink and building a brand new theatre and art center there. benson commons, where the dining hall and student center is, is being revamped and redone.

the current theater and allen dorm and memorial hall is being knocked down for a new science and math wing that is similar to the new science and math wing at taft.

plus. this fall they were working non stop on new fields for softball and lacrosse and stuff. those are gonna be ready soon.

so basically its really really exciting. and even the guys dorms- they are like my dorm. as a freshman i was in CGR, one of the new dorms. i then found out that i was in the old girls' dorm for my sophomore year. i was so so ****ed. but now being in it i am so happy. so alll these changes are coming about and im really excited. and as i tell all the kids that i give tours to...

i didnt like the viewbook that berkshire gave me. when it was time to go for my first visit i asked my mom if i could just sleep in because i really didnt like the viewbook and i knew i didnt want to go there. she made me go and look- i ended up going there. its weird how things work out but jsut keep an open mind and everything will work out.

i wouldnt change my decision if i could (which i technically can)

hope this helped out a little.

Sorry, not applying to Berkshire... too late, plus I have NO clue where the apps are :(
