Conquest

more questions:

I dont remember anything about #3.

The reign between Mauryan and Gupta was marked by...
local rulers.

im over it. over. phew no more postings here. gluck...even tho you peeps dont need it.. 8)

Yeah, I don't remember anything about the Chinese Dynasties question...Maybe you're remembering one from a Kaplan practice test?

THere was another question like the first country with a constitutional parliament without a written constitution.

Also: What is the answer to the Gorbachev question?

rampreddy, that's the UK, if I'm not mistaken.

im pretty sure the gorbachev question was liberal reforms
the western choice only applied to peter i think

The code of Hammurabi was not given by any god, I can tell you that...if there was an answer of justice and laws by class, then that was right.

The problem is that the only other applicable answer said that the code was egalitarian (not in those words, but the meaning was pretty much there...). Damn the College Board and their impossible objective tests for subjective subjects.

Yeah. I think the given by gods answer was actually 'given by god to the babylonians', or something to that effect... making it the "most correct" answer? All of the others had something blatantly wrong about them, as far as I can remember. Like, the code was definitely NOT egalitarian.

Edit:
The carving on the stone on which the code is written depicts Hammurabi receiving the divine laws from the sun god, the god most often associated with justice. (<a href="http://library.thinkquest.org/20176/hammurabis_code.htm%5B/url%5D">http://library.thinkquest.org/20176/hammurabis_code.htm</a>)</p>

i think the actual wording was "universal"
Hammurabi's code had different punishment for different classes, not universal

Two more questions i remembered

What were the earliest things to be traded (i forgot which trade route, sub-saharan? trans-saharan?) on this trade route?
was it gold and salt? can't anyone remember the trade route?

Also, wasn't there a question that pertained to Africa and had the answer choice "started in north, spread to south" or something to that extent?

^ The question was: what were the earliest things exchanged in the trans-Saharan trade?

I think the question was related to (the start of?) ironworking in Africa.

crap
so it wan'st salt and gold?
no... it still would be gold and salt right?

I think I left that question blank. The gold and salt was worded "gold for salt"...

Edit:
I think that may be right, actually.

no, i believe that gold from sub-sahara was traded FOR salt from the mediterranenan, as salt was scarce below the sahara where gold was abundant

Edit: The rise of the Ghana Empire, centred on what is now southern Mauritania, paralleled the increase in trans-Saharan trade. Mediterranean economies were short of gold but could supply salt, taken by places like the African salt mine of Taghaza, whereas West African countries like Wangara had plenty of gold but needed salt. - Wikipedia

~12-15 wrong with controversy here. :O

I can't even have a precise approximation for my score, it could be from 700-800...
