June 14 2014 ACT Discussion

your right… ugh :’( last time I did so bad and this time I thought I would do better but I guess not…

Does anyone remember the question on english dealing with "for " and a semi colon?

I don’t think so, sometimes they throw out questions and that’s why on some tests you can miss one and get a 36, usually on math or science

I don’t really know l, that’s just what I think they do

What was the last question for the English passage? Was the passage effective in summarizing the women’s contribution? I was kinda Iffy.

@Sarahdd I don’t remember the question exactly. I do remember that there were choices between ending the sentence and starting the next one with “For”, for and a semi colon, for after a comma, and some other choice with no punctuation (I think?)

@candy54321 I think I said no because it was just highlighting one woman (Mother Jones) and her contributions rather than multiple women. I believe it was the last answer choice.

Yes it was effective because it focused on the efforts made by the women.

Yeah I put “no” too LOL because it said summarize. I think focusing on one women is too specific

i said no because it focused on only one person and not several

@Sarahdd isn’t No, because it only focused on one woman rather than the whole women’s right?

i put that too & whatta bout the for question, I put for and the comma but idkk

What was the frieze question on the English section? Originally was frieze(semicolon) or frieze(comma) which

Since for’s a fanboy then you’d use a comma @iman101010

I put it was not effective because only mother jones was focused upon

Yeah, the essay only focused on Mother Jones. It did not include anything about other women in the movement, so it couldn’t have been the answer of women in general.

How did you guys put so much in that essay? Maybe I write small, but I had 4 paragraphs: an intro, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion… I was writing almost the entire time and It only came out to be like a page and a half long.

Wow. I only took one practice test from an old barron’s book which crushed my confidence.
I come and take the test and I thought it was soooo much easier.

The Princeton Review was ridiculously hard. Nothing at all like the math or science tests.

How did you guys put so much in that essay? Maybe I write small, but I had 4 paragraphs: an intro, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion… I was writing almost the entire time and It only came out to be like a page and a half long. Coudn’t have written more in the 30 minutes we were given.

Did anyone else feel like there were one or two very unfair science questions? Like the lipid/ATP/starch question- it tested scientific knowledge, not reasoning (Required previous knowledge). Or am I missing something?
