June 2 French

yes I'm pretty sure - eclarcie was a trap. look up the meaning of "net"

i also put the jeunesse as characteristic.

i agree with you on the gold passage.

shoot i think i didn't pay attention to the negative form here (was it really negative?) - i think that i put down elle vient :(

i agree with the lunch (it said like "sauf dimanche")
i put down D for the leather thing (i didn't understand the word but it was NOT belt, wallet or the sac de voyage.) should i have put down the sac de voyage?

no, it was "echarpe" not "sac de voyage," i think.

i've gotten sucked into so many traps so far. so much for an 800. in fact, so much for a 600.

yes echarpe it was. that's a relief.
don't worry Kristina it's just one question!!

how did the old man sound? and what was necessary in order to live a good life according to him (i didn't even understand the question)

I definitely remember the penser was negative.

Oh, for the leather one, the last choice was echarpe. I was torn, because an echarpe is an accessory, but it is not made of leather, whereas a suitcase is made of leather, but it is not an accessory :-/

But look up the meaning of eclaircie! http://www.wordreference.com/fren/eclairci
I thought net meant clean in the sense of tidiness...

For the passage about the 40-year-old, when they asked something about him going to the sea when he was 20, was it that he went there all the time?

yes (although it was actually only each weekend but it was the best answer choice)

wow, Kristina, thanx! I hope you're right about the eclairci.
i got the penser - venir question wrong though apparently :(

can you comment on my other two old-man questions?

Hm, I can't remember the choices for the old man. What did you put? If you mean the last question, it was something about spending time outside? Can't quite remember.

But for the one about the house being broken into, was the guy resigned?

i put that he went there all the time. for another question in that section, i put that people work more at forty than at twenty, not that forty-year-olds are preparing to die, though both are mentioned in the passage. :/

the guy was SO resigned :P

in the end? no i think furieux

wasn't there a question about the 40-year-old's feeling as well? nostalgic?
i put down that 40-year olds are preparing to die.

i don't remember the last question either, kristina :( i think i got it wrong

Really? I thought by his statement "bah! tant pis" he was just going "oh, whatever, too bad."

Not furious. He was like I needed to organize my papers anyway, and all I missed out on was a lousy trip to the beach. Or something like that lol

I said that 40 year olds are getting ready to die.

Also, when do we get our scores, guys? I'm too braindead to find it on the CB's website.

June 21.
Wasn't he "****ed" because he missed out the lunch with this girl?

edit:
oh shoot - i just looked up "tant pis" -> definitely resigned :( :( :(

do you know how many questions one can omit/wrong to get an 800?

do you remember what the exact word in the answer for the preparing to die response was? was it s'appreter? i remember being unsure; thought maybe it was a trick..

could you please check / confirm my answers about the passages
the guy and the apartment
a thief enters
he is coming from the bank
he expresses resignement
he is a writer
the 40 year old man
at 40 they're preparing to die
he is nostalgic
at 20 he looks continuously the sea ( sans cesser ) ---> this on probably is wrong

I made several mistakes :
The sand, the opening of the shop , the verb in subjonctif etc
Do you have any idea about the curve ?

looks good baph

sorry i don't remember the wording - don't remember anything suspect either

curve would be nice to know.

For the last question... it related to the very last part of the passage, when he was talking about how when he was younger he always went in the sun and stuff, but didn't do that anymore. I know that was the reason I picked my answer, but I just can't remember what my answer was!

For the preparing to die, the verb was like appreter.

YES baphomet, nostalgic! That's what it was :) and I put sans cesser, too.

Ohh and for the vocab section, J'ai faim. Il est l'heure de ______. Was it gouter?

I put gouter (snack, right?)

Yayy! That's what I put, too, but I'd never seen it in that form before.

goûter definitely. looks like sans cesser and nostalgic are correct as well! YES! :)
