yes gouter is right .
what about the one : you've got a cold, is that tousser ?

Yes, tousser.

Oh, and was one of them in the fill-in paragraph about the window a travers la fenetre?

yes.
it was like the only one of the answer choices i understood but i'm sure it's correct. (referring to tousser)

is it 09:30 DU or AU matin? (fill-in paragraph)

i omitted this one @ Kristina

yes, tousser indeed :) and du matin, i believe.

ugh...so far, it's not looking good over here: between the burning sandals, "nette" photo, preparing to die, and stupid mistakes about the cinema francophone...looks like I'M the one who should be preparing to die :/

what does "a travers" mean, anyway? i'd actually never heard it before, but it was in a couple of the other questions, so i put it.

I said DU matin.

Oh, let's talk about the cinema francophone. I thought that was a rather hard passage.

oh, and this was nerve-wracking: i had nearly 8 B's in a row...did anyone else have long strings of answers?

I don't exactly know what a travers means... but it sounded right. And the other choices didn't make sense!

Cinema:

African films are... meconnu? in the occidental world.
In the future, they hope that... something with diffusion.

What were the other questions?

I said DU matin too.

oooooh the cinema. this one sucked!! it was like they wanted to bild bridges among the FRANCOPHONE part but one solution was still to distribute the cinema francophone over the whole world right?
what was the answer to the question about the TV Channel? i didn't understand this at all but I put something down - don't remember what though

edit: yes, m

i always got it down to two answers on the cinema questions, but i have a sneaking feeling i picked the wrong ones. for instance, i can't remember what i put for one, but i did NOT put "imposer une identite culturelle"...i think i ended up putting "propoger les films francophones partout dans le monde", but that was the answer to the next question too.... ergh

Commodore, I remember a lot of Bs in a row.

meconnu :)
yeah, r_c, that was an awkward bridge bit :/
i think the channel was to spread it around the world too.

and i'm glad to hear about the Bs...that always makes me nervous

I put propoger les films.

commodore, i also had twice "propoger les films francophones partout dans le monde" although the text always talked about "propoger the movies dans la francophonie only".

I thought the ad about the hunger fighting organization was pretty easy.

requesting a financial contribution (I laughed at the choice that talked about oiseaux, because there were oiseaux in the picture :D )

1 pour cent

except for idioms and trick false cognates (and passages that are subjective/just plain hard), some parts of the reading are kind of a relief when compared to that vocabulary (:()

edit: the bird one was cute :D and i got that too

for the first passage (the job one) - was it looking for someone who was going to sell dog medication to vets?? i had to read it several times.

a travers means through so that was through the window which i suppose is correct :)
so far 7 mistakes but probably will get higher

yep Kristina I agree.
Although I first fell into the trap and chose "donner des alimentes". but then I saw the information about the cheque and it was clear.

Back to the vet ad: do you need to have an interest in the well-being of animals?

I used a PR prep book, and thought that the difficulty of the passages was pretty comparable to that (even one of them in the book was about cinema du monde francophonie!). But the vocab was obviously harder. Grammar was about the same.
