June 2008 Writing

I think I put no error for the monkeys. Was that in the experimental, though?

I think writing was normal difficulty wise, the only question that bothered me was the one that was like "monkeys communicate through American sign language". there was some other stuff that was underlined in it but i was certain that the other choices were right. i had it narrowed down to either "through" being incorrect or there not being any error. is "communicate through american sign language" idiomatically correct? it just seemed like "with" or "in" instead of "through" sounded better.

what else was there? i don't really remember...

I put monkeys as correct, as well as the mosque one.

Two in the 10-minute section bothered me: the Hemingway one and the "although/whereas" skater one.

yea i left that skater one blank

i left a total of 5 writing blank

Was there an error in the puppet question?

hemingway needed to be changed because it was like "between something more of his writing" it should have been something with "most out of his writing". it was comparative when it should have been superlative. i dont remember skater or mosque one.

That's what I did for Hemingway. There was a tense error for the puppets: the show had already happened.

Hemingway was "more unified...than" because one doesn't compare something "to" but "with" something else.

Yeah, the puppet one needed to be changed to past tense.
I changed Hemingway to "A Farewell to Arms, critics say, is more unified than.."
I got no error for monkeys or for mosque and mine wasn't experimental. :)

what about the one with between 1609 to somethin

shouldnt it be between what ever date and wahtever date

That was the one about the UN Delegates, right? I don't remember a verb being underlined, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, the UN one was hard. It all seemed okay, but I guess not...

it was delegates to the US

i said that to was wrong

I thought there was a blatant tense error on that one...?

I had none of these questions...and my experimental was a 35q writing!

Kaznack- Do you remember what underlined one it was. "As" didn't sound quite right, but I thought it was.

My experimental was a writing, too.

The Hemingway question should have been the answer with most in it as it was comparing one of his books to more than one.

for us delegates the answer is "to"...b/c of incorrect idiom.

I think to is correct, at least I've heard it before on the news. I thought for was wrong as you can't really give something for somebody, but I'm not all that sure.

wait so "to" is the one that is wrong or is to the proper form? I dont remember the whole sentence so I cant say
