June 2009 SAT INTERNATIONAL

Haha ,I am glad with your score oceangel  What do you think means 770 on M ? -2 ?

My scores and all the people from my room scores are delayed. The guys from the other room that took the SAT II also have their scores delayed  What do you think oceangel means -2 on M ?
I think -1 = 800 and -2 = 770 ? This makes sense because every time the second error takes you 30 points
-1 = 790
-2 - 760

or

-1 = 780
-2 = 750

Congrats oceanangel! Huge improvement. Have you prepared for your January test? I hope to get 2300 in October. Arenā€™t your scores released yet CR7_ManUtd?

No,damn not .All the people from my test room + the guys from the room next door are having their scores delayed.I think CB received our test papers later ;)

Iā€™m 90% sure that -2 raw (1 MC wrong, 1 student-produced response wrong) was a 740 on the June SAT.

hahahahha whaaaaaaaat are you out of your mind :D:D:D I have the curves from the pas 2 years and the worst possible is 750 (rarely ) -2 means 750 (-1 780 and -2 770 )
This is absurd.The international test was hard ,I think it was -1 = 800 and -2 = 770

OMG are you srs?! about the -2 = 770 thing
NO WONDER I DIED AT THE MATH.
i donā€™t even know how it is scored! i panic everytime i do the math section because asians are supposedly better at math, AND I AM NOT GOOD AT IT.

Cr7_ManUtd: Thanks! haha and yeah, I THINK 770 was -2ā€¦2 hugely careless mistakesā€¦but oh well! I think i had 2 grid-ins wrong. haha I was expecting a 760 >.< I think the math curve was pretty lenient this time. aww do you know why your scores are delayed? Thatā€™s really nerve-wracking haha but good luck!

Bilguun: haha yeah itā€™s quite amazing how big the difference turned out to be >.< I actually did prep for January, and my scores shocked me cuz they were so much lower than my average practice test scoresā€¦ So I prepped more intensely for the last few months and looks like it paid off! So, huge improvements are definitely possible! lol Good luck on your october test!

Damn I am so impatient to get my scores.I only know about 1 mistake so I expect 800 on M ,730 on WR ,and probably 650 on CR.
Oceanangel ,did you accidentally grid 114 instead of 144 ?What was your other mistake ? I got the x y z question wrong :D

CR7_ManUtd,
HAHAHAHA
we got the same math scoreā€¦just as we expected lol

and oceanangel, from a 1980 to a 2300ā€¦please tell me how you did it.
Save me, please.

Korean, what did u get and what did u expect
I am still waiting for the scores

Iā€™m so happy, I got 2260 :D

800W
730M
730CR

Thatā€™s a 200 point improvement since my first time!

wow,everyoneā€™s scoreā€™s improving by 200+, 300+,while mine only improved by 10 :frowning:
whatā€™s your secret?

add me on msn people. Iā€™d like to share my opinion on the SAT with you:

dj1126ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–

The first time, all I focused on was strategyā€¦this time, I actually took the time to memorize the concepts for math and writing, and always went over my practice tests.

Also, I took these classes at this Korean place called Elite Prep in downtown Torontoā€¦itā€™s not really beneficial in terms of the work they give you, since they focus on each concept tested on the SAT. Thatā€™s only good if you take the classes for like a year. The practice tests, though, were administered every class; I feel that really helped me improve. I took the test in real test-settings. I started with about 2100 in the first test, and by the fourth and last one, I had a 2250. I got a 2260 on the real test.

Hope that helped.

Hey guys, got a 2000. Reaction was fairly disappointed, but it was the first time with little prep so I didnā€™t know what to expect. Anyway, Iā€™m fairly optimistic and hopefully can break 2200 after 1 or 2 more tries.

The breakdown was:

M: 740 ā€“> Must have made quite a few silly errors
W: 640 ā€“> Really surprised. I was consistently scoring in the 700s in the few practice papers I did.
CR: 620 ā€“> Expected to score fairly low on this, and improved 50 points from my PSAT with little prep.

Oceanangel, please tell us your secret. I have this summer for prep, so I need this time to maximise my score!!!

yeah Oceanangel, whatā€™s your secret?

Does it seem they graded the essay hard. I got all the multiple questions right and got a lower score then thought I should on the written essay.

I got a 12 with ease lawlz.

HAHA Hmm I really donā€™t know what happened >.<
I think there was have been a problem with me when I took the January test LOL I kept scoring around 2200s on my practice tests, so when the scores came out, I was really shocked. I had:

M: 690
W: 670 (MC: 66, E: 9)
CR: 620 <-CR was ALWAYS my major weakness

So after the test, I bought Kaplanā€™s flip-o-matic vocab book and memorized all the words there. There were about 500 words, I think. That definitely helped with my CR section as I came across many of the words from the book on the actual test and thought CR vocab was actually quite easy. For CR, I guess itā€™s just memorizing as much vocab as you can.

Oh and for the writing section, I think what pulled me up was my essay. You all should try AcademicHackerā€™s essay guide, it REALLY helps! Although I donā€™t know my essay score yet, Iā€™m assuming itā€™s an 11/12 this time.

Hope that helps in some way~ haha

Oh yeah, do you guys think that my 770 Math can be overlooked since I have an 800 Math IIC? I actually donā€™t want to take the SAT for 4 hours AGAIN for those 30 points, but I feel like Math should have been an 800 easily but I screwed it upā€¦

or should I retake?
