June 2010: Chemistry

what is the curve like on these tests?

GrrRrrRRRrrRRR…spent way too long on the last few questions…AND THEY WERE EASY TOO >:[

i think i should see the discussion and decide whether i wanna cancel this or not…
skip 6 and -3 to -5… phew lil disappointed.

When is the embargo lifted? Have all the US people taken it by now?

Could someone pm me what they mean by the last three? I don’t remember anything hard from the first section…

NO2 or N2O?

NO2 i guess

Embargo has been lifted already…
what was the question for the readily evaporation one? doesn’t really ring a bell

What was the name of that chart?!?! I know the answers were difficult, but somebody has to know the name right?!

Grrr… I better get an 800, I took like, every practice test from every book legally available to study for this, and not once did I see that chart…

what was the NO2 one? the harmful?

im pretty sure that one was, has a high vapor pressure, and didnt the other question ask for the least harmful one?

There was a question that asked for the least harmful gas to humans? I’m pretty sure it was CO2…?

Which chart are you talking about?

when water evaporates does the rest of it become cooler?

density of methanol or whatever the substance was? i put 0.7

i think it was NO2 for the unpaired electron

yea i put CO2 as well, anyone have other questions? pretty sure I aced that thing

What was the one about shifting the equilibrium left? I went through every option, and they all seemed like they would shift it right…

The chart was the energy involved in an electron changing energy levels (like the bohr model of an atom). The least energy was the shortest one, ground state was 1 -> 2, and ionization energy was 1 -> infinite.

For the shifting the equation, I think I put add HCl, if that was an answer choice. Not sure if we’re talking about the same question.

And I’m pretty sure water gets cooler when it evaporates… because the molecules with the high kinetic energy/high temperature are the ones that move into the vapor state… I think?

yea density was .7 and unpaired electron was NO2, and yea it does cool when evaporating

the question was what gas is least harmful to humans in small quantities?

I’m on the west coast and I just finished it. People taking multiple tests will finish in a couple hours. It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting but I left 4 blank. The questions I did get, however, were definitely manageable.
