June 2010 Math

Anyone,

Are all the experimental questions in one section?

all the experimentals are in one section, yes

They were two different questions.
The meal question was 28.80.
The food check was 81.

can you remind me about the food check one before I put it one the list?

Thanks, packer22!

Can we work on putting asterisks (*) next to the questions that are experimental? (in the consolidated list)

@packer lol I don’t exactly remember but I got 81x for it.

@jolly can you elaborate on the meal question? I don’t remember it.

the meal question was if you tip 4.20 for a 21 dollar meal (or something close), then if you tipped 5.4, how much would your meal cost?

Hm, I can’t really remember the food check one exactly but it was something along the lines of the following:

You purchase two meals at a restaurant. The first meal costs x dollars and the second meal costs 2x/3 dollars because you get a discount… (i forget the rest…)

How do you guys think the curve for this test for -1 is gonna look like?
I missed one at least and I’m hoping for 790, but I’m guessing more like 780. Any other thoughts?

Hard to tell but you will probably get a 780.

Ok, I remember the meal question but I got $36 as the answer. to get tip, you multiply your meal cost with a certain percentage to get your tip cost. So if meal cost and tip cost are directly proportional, (btw the cost was $28 meal for the 4.2 tip) $28x=$4.2 (where x is the percentage) Therefore, the percentage is 15%. So from there, go backwards, .15c=5.4 (where c is the cost of the meal) and you get the cost of the meal to be $36.

Threads got merged I guess. Sorry internationals.

Yes, it was 36.

I did

4.2= 5.4

28 x

151.2=4.2x

x=28.80

The meal question was $36. The one where you had to convert to yards and then to dollars was $28.80.

Wait, so the answer was not 28.80?
Edit - oh nevermind you guys are right
