June 2010: World History

What did you think?...D found it much more difficult than any practice test she's taken. She got an 800 on Kaplan's practice test # 2 last night and a 740 on the "real SAT2" test book..so she is disappointed.

Anyone else?

Same here. I consistently got 800s on all my practice tests but I had to guess on like 20… Much harder than I had expected.

i totally blanked some people have not taken the test yet sorry ):

Oh my god thank god! I thought it was EXTREMELY HARD!! I guessed like more than half of the questions… :(

Do you guys know when the embargo’ll be lifted? (I need to discuss the answers because I’m considering cancelling my scores…)

Also, is this the official thread of the june test? thanks!

I’m not really sure how I did. There were some difficult ones.

I know for sure I got one right and one wrong.

Hey, I think that map of Germany was 1941. It was certainly not 1916 or 1939. It may have been 1944, but I put 1941.

I didn’t answer that one. Holy crap… how was I supposed to know so many of these things?
and are we allowed to discuss specific questions?

Are we allowed to be talking about the answers?

I think we are, on the other threads the people are openly discussing questions. what did you guys put for the which societies existed at the same time but never contacted eachother? I put mayans and romans because they were both barely overlapping in the 400’s.

yup, I was just confirming that one, a little fun fact saved me because I was thinking the mayans were about 500’s-600’s and ready to put Ming and Swahili, but I knew that they found genetic evidence of a chinese sailor staying in a Swahili coastal city so I went with mayans instead.

Cool beans! Yea. I’m really excited to see how I did!

Just hoping for over 700… :S

For the Germany one, was 1941 answer (D)? because that’s what I put. I think it had to do with the Soviets.

What was the answer to the Marco Polo question? Was it (E) barley and oats? I totally guessed the majority of the questions… :(

I said tomatoes and sweet potatoes. Those were new world foods and he died in the early 1300’s so I doubt he ever came across those

I put 1941 as well for the Germany one. Also, for Marco Polo, it would have been the one with sweet potatoes and maize (I think it was maize). Anyway, sweet potatoes and the other one are indigenous to the Americas. Marco Polo never visited the Americas.

it was tomatoes and sweet potatoes, I am pretty sure of that because it was the really long answer

Hey does anyone remember the one about the difference between Sumer and Inca cities? I put Inca cities developed in the highlands.

And then there was another about the difference between Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism. I put…chasity? Went out on a limb there.

I put highland vs river valley too, because that was a characteristic difference I remember reading about. And the difference was Bodhisatvas. I couldn’t remember which one placed an importance on them but since I knew about it I put that one

Do you guys remember the question about which European nation was most urbanized during the High Middle Ages? Also another similar question about what was the biggest or most commericial city in Europe during the 1600s or so. I put Italy and London, respectively, but I was pretty unsure about these two.

^Agree. It is bodhisattvas. Mahayana placed an emphasis on them but Theravada did not.
