June 2010: World History

@Tinks800: I clearly remember it was choice (D). The choice was something along the lines of “local nobility…sthsthsth… desire for power”.

sorry i didn’t notice that ivoire haha
sorry for questioning you

Hmm I had thought his empire had fallen because his heirs split it up in the Treaty of Verdun, not anything tondo with nobels. Oh whatever.

@Tinks800: An empire is an empire no matter how many times you split it. Two examples: The Holy Roman Empire encompassed more than 300 separate German provinces and a whole bunch more others. Way back, the Roman Empire was split into the Western and Eastern halves, yet the Roman Empire itself didn’t fall until 5th century CE, when Rome was sacked.

@truesondaily: lol no worries… I’m hardly an expert =D

Does anyone want to make a list of the questions we have answers for?

tinks, I went back to my ap textbook and it said that the empire started to weaken because the lower lords followed their own agendas. So they stopped listening to the higher ups, which is pretty much rebelling

I went to my AP textbook too but it wasn’t much help. I don’t think anything was much help for this test. Eh whatever I’m still in the 800 range unless you guys come find more answers where I was wrong :(

I’m okay with getting like a 770  just relax, it won’t make a difference. Doesn’t make you a failure if you missed an 800

what about that question that asked all of the following were results of mongol conquest in the 13th century except…

if i skipped about 22 and got 5 wrong, would that be over 700? i think i might just cancel it. i got 800s on barrons, but this test was ridiculous.

Except spread buddhism. Don’t cancel, you can always choose which scores you want to send to colleges and you won’t be able to take World again until December.

And your raw score would be 67, giving you a 740.

well i dont know if this was a choice or not.
but i put that the downfall to carolingian empire was the lack of good rulers after charlemagne which seeems right to me.

Does anybody know what -15 and omit 3 would roughly be for a score? Like a 770-790?

^^that wasnt a choice.

The choice involved nobles dividing up power. Which implies weak leadership, which really was the downfall of the Carolingian empire.

As for the dominant religion in 1300 CE…well, Islam is the fastest-growing religion (or something like that) today, but in the Middle Ages…?

Wasn’t Christianity the dominant religion? I’m pretty sure it was.

^I think that’s what I put. I don’t think the answer was Islam.

In 1300 you have a lot of large Islamic empires. Plus didn’t the Mongols convert to Islam?

^ Yeah, except for the Yuan Khanate.
