June 2010: World History

french and russian question = they were replaced by reactionary governments.

russia and japan = japan developed electronics while russia developed weapons tech.

goat, sheep and wheat came from the middle east area.

what was the answer to the question about what caused the most amount of deaths? i answered that it was stalin’s farms

the answer to the vikings’ settlement question was north america.
although the vikings DID settle in north america, they soon abandoned the settlements

Vikings was definitely North America. By the time the question gave, those settlements were gone and therefore not “LASTING.”

Sub-Saharan Africa wasn’t the answer. Many of them lived sedentary lives raising yams and stuff. Historians aren’t aware of the population of North America before Columbus, but they were almost all nomads.

For French and Russian, I said they wanted to spread their ideas to other countries (or did spread them). Napoleon was a direct result of the French Revolution, and he invaded most of Europe and tried to spread French enlightenment ideals. Russia, with communism, is obvious.

oh dang … now i know i got around 5 wrong D:

wasn’t neolithic women had the duty to raise a strong child?
wasn’t that the answer?

neolithic- different duties but similar importance, or something like that
confucian- something with bearing sons.
and as for the viking one, I said north america too. don’t remember them staying here too long, and i do recall them in ireland.
update: according to wiki they occupied/raided parts of ireland for almost 400 years. thats pretty long lasting

I think I did better on the AP than the SAT II…

:P

^^ same here, I thought the AP was as hard as it’ll get…

I just thought of another one- the ordering of Fourth Crusade, rule of Justinian, and the Ottoman’s capture of Constantinople… What was the correct order?

also, would someone mind updating the compiled list please? thanks! :)

The order was rule of Justinian, Fourth Crusade, Capturing of Constantinople, one of the few guesses I got right.

that one was easy- justinian was the person responsible for making byzantium , then the fourth crusade was in 1204 and was in constantinople, then the ottomans were dominant in the 1400’s or so so that one was last.

what was the answer to the one asking who was related to some guy whose last name’s gandi

It was Jawahrlal Nehru, her father. I put Feroz Gandhi but that was the guy Indira married. Talk about specific.

jawahral nehru- indira gandhi was NOT related to mahatm gandhi

ya… I just went for the one with the same last name. dang it

another one off the top of my head. wasn’t one of the answers undevelpomenet or soemthing like that

ya I think I put underdevelopment too-- something to do with raw materials and keeping gold and silver I think…

can someone please update the list ?thanks!

yeah- what did they call countries that weren’t industrialized and were exporting raw goods or something. i put undeveloped

It seems like I got most of these but missed some gimmes, let’s hope for the best yeah? :D

if u had omitted those 14 you would have gotten an 800
