June 2013 ACT Thread

but yea, we definitely need to move to separate forums

Speakers in hawaii they compared the waves not actual speakers

Triangles was 37

Correct. Answer was definitely speakers in Hawaii. I feel like I got one wrong on English. Math a few, probably the inequality one. I put 17 bags of mulch for the triangle. Not sure. What was chords one?

for science, was the one talking about whether like AcH was a neurotransmitter or a hormone, which was it? Neurotransmitter, right?

I really thought science and reading were easier than April. Math was just awful

I thought the science was way harder than April’s (I had 71C). The rest of the sections were about what I expected them to be.

I thought this test was much much easier than aprils

For the math question of “What other information do you need to find the angle of B?” was it that the lines are parallel or the angle of D? (Sorry if those angle names were switched)

What was ratio of area of square to parallelogram where they gave you 5 and 2?

bmw, you’re overlooking that 2^(2+1)=8=2m. So m=4. 2^(2+3) = 32
32 in terms of m is 8m since 8*4 = 32

Also, I started English (my best section) and was like “Huh, this is a little harder than I’m used to,” but I still thought I got (possibly) a 36. Math I complained about on break, but now I don’t think it was that hard compared to the rest. Reading was worse than usual… I had to guess on one due to lack of time, and about five I was unsure of. And then science killed me. Literally probably went down 10 points.

And also, I wanted to cry. That has never happened before. And then I got distracted, because I was like “How come more people don’t cry during the ACT?”

science section is nothing like the red book. Jeez

the answer was that u need the exterior angle on left side.

Yeah I remember, it said they noticed the volcano the eruption through changes in the barometer.

What are typical curves for the ACT? Like I know the SAT math is almost always -1 brings it down from a perfect. Are there similar curves on the ACT? Certain subjects that you have to ALWAYS (no matter how hard the test) miss zero to get a perfect?

I’m crying…reading is usually my best section (consistent 34+) and i ran out of time and was between two choices on around 8 questions…:frowning: i seriously thought this test was really tough

it’s 8m not 4m. and its such as wifi and gps with no colon. and for the bags of mulch i put 22 but not sure if thats right. something about 2 inches deep now 3 inches deep and 12 square feet. andI put mn for the last one but I’m not sure it could be m+n. could someone prove it?

u can miss 2 on english and math 0 for science and 1 for reading i believe

did anyone else get a lot of NO CHANGES for the English section?
