@Amplified: Same here about the crying. This test - even in my strengths like English and Math - was unfair. After I got destroyed on the reading (guessed on like 11), I literally wanted to cry and rip my test in half. There was no point in taking the science at that point. I need a miracle curve right now.

June was way harder, nickps. I actually enjoyed some of the readings from April and this test just made me want to cry. I didn’t get to read the Natural Science passage at all.

**** im going crazy haha my composite for my first test was so bad it was a 24. I have to hit high like 28+ considering parents are crazy and chinese -_-

Well that was my first experience with the ACT and it was interesting to say the least. I thought English, math, and reading were really easy but science killed me. There just wasn’t enough time! You actually had to read more than the reading section. I’d get through a passage and understand it completely, but then I’d only get to answer five questions before I had to read through a new passage! I ran out of time, guessed on eight. The questions themselves weren’t that difficult though which is good, because it means I can improve my score a lot in the fall if I figure out a way to speed up on the science section.

But I really think I got perfect or almost perfect on English and reading and an almost perfect on math surprisingly. The math was a lot better than the SAT.

Is it possible to still get a really good overall score if one of your sections is really bad? When colleges see your ACT score do they see an overall score or a breakdown? Not very familiar with the ACT scoring system.

@ephemeralbliss ok well at least I’m not the only one. I literally guessed on 6 without looking at the question cause I ran out of time, and even on the ones I did answer I was maybe 50% sure.

Also: on English I was very conflicted on semicolons vs commas. Did anyone else feel this way? I don’t know semicolons very well, because I never use them in my writing.

I thought Math was insanely hard compared to the practice test. Ended up not being sure on 3-4 questions.

Surprisingly, the other sections were pretty easy. I finished on time for all of them with ~40 seconds to spare. I’m nervous though because I got quite a bit three-letters in a row on the Science section (might just be superstition)

The essay portion was same-old same-old IMO.

On math, did anyone get (K) mn for #54 with the polynomials?
Also on science, there was one question in the passage about the colorimeter that asked what decreasing the bounded stuff would do to the absorptivity… I put (B) decrease but I wasn’t sure if it was actually (A) increase.

Did any of you get “varied but with no general trend” because it went 80 80 80 and then it started to degrease … i would of put decreaased of all of them were getting lower but not in this case

Did anyone have a test 5 in the back of their booklet? I had form 71C. It was like a 20 question math test… what was that all about? We didn’t do it, but whaaaat?
