June ACT Math Section

Alright, thanks zach12

Sent from my Droid using CC App

^ I agree, 45 = 27 on this test. Slight chance of a 28.

Woah, I got that many wrong last time? I got a 28 on the last test I took in February… I only seem to have 2 wrong this time around

do you guys think that a -1 will be a 36 o 35? i cant remember if i accidentally put c=-1 for the last question

@ david

The curve for that test was probably harsher (based on the reactions I’ve seen today).

wow i just read all of this, i was so psyched up cuz i am pretty sure i only got -1 but then greywolf posted those answers and he put 3k-20 i know it was an early question but i remember putting like k+20.

someone please tell me ididnt make a ■■■■■■■■ mistake and lose my 35-36 on like the 4th problem!

Does anyone have any curve predictions…?
God… I got at least -3 based on what everyone’s saying, and that’s not even including dumb mistakes. I was aiming for a 35 at first… but now I know that’s impossible.

there’s a chance i got one wrong…could -1 be a 36?

liv4physicz I think there’s a good chance -1 is a 36. Based on what everyone’s saying, this math section was harder than normal.

i dont think anyone here can predict the curve but there is definitely a chance of it being -1 36

@bsb6666:

Yeah, sorry, I remember putting 3k + 20 there. The question was like “if one thing is k, then what is the other thing if it’s 20 more than 3 times k.”

Is the ACT even curved? I read somewhere that the score scales are pre-set?

@ bsb6666

The question was like “A train/bus has a speed of 20 MPH more than 3 times the speed of another train/bus. If K is the speed of the slower train/bus, then what is the expression for the speed of the faster train/bus?”

3K + 20

I took a practice test in this little book which ACT mails to our school. Made a 33 on the math (timed myself and everything). The actual ACT math from today…bad. I have taken it 3 times before, and I don’t remember it being this hard. :/

What was the answer to question 3 … Something about if a family member gives his niece 10 dollars each year and 2 dollars for every age number or something… ?? Please help…

the uncle gave 34 bucks. so all you have to do is 34-10=24, 24/2=12. the niece is 12 years old.

@tryme. it was 12. greywolf said number 7 was 2 and 5/12. does anyone remember the question?

@ Tryme

She received $34. $10 of that was a general birthday gift. So that leaves $24 for her age. $24 (total dollars for age)/$2 (per year old) = 12 years old.

oh i remember that one… she wouldve been 12, right?

What were all of the answer choices for the chair problem? I knew how to do it, but I may have done bad math on accident and gotten 140 degrees instead of 160 degrees…
