June English Thread

It was no because it was ‘anti-climatic’. Not because it was contradictory.

The arourialis passage. I still think it’s D.

yes yes it was anti-climatic. Thanks for remembering. That’s the one I put so I guess that’s C

Ahhh yes joe, that was the verbatim, I also went with anti-climactic ending

Don’t remember anything with anticlimactic ending what were the other options. I remember that it weakend the final paragraph but nothing with anticlimactic

Yes, it was anti-climatic, as compared to the sentence before it.

hahalolk can you remind me what passage that wass from and what the question was

UVA, your either put no, because it was contradictory, or no, because it weakened AND was anti-climactic

It was aurora borealis or whatever the very last question

Was that the question that said, The author is thinking of adding this “some people say that they can hear the aurora borealis, but scientists do not think this is possible” I’m almost 100% sure it was NO because the information weakened the authors conclusion
Edit: if what I’m saying wasn’t even an awnser let me know

^Yeah, I think they were same choice. Either way, it was a bad way to end the passage.

^^ i don’t think what you’re saying is an answer. anti climatic was the one that weakened the conclusion.

Alright thank you, so far I only don’t know if i got the shimmering colors one right.

Edit: I know the awnser I put said something like if included it would weaken the authors conclusion

^^ I put that.

Also for the shimmering colored one I put: “shimmering, colored”

UVA it said that too. You got it right.

Are we agreeing that it’s the one that says it undermines the author’s paragraph?
Also, what were the choices for the shimmering question???

shimmering options i believe were:

shimmering, colored lights, <– I put that for some reason :frowning:
shimmering, colored lights (undoubtedly the correct answer in my mind)
shimmering, colored, lights, (def not)
shimmering colored lights (I dont remember this being an option but lots of people have said so and it’s caused a lot of controversy so I’ll take their word for it.)

It was shimmering, colored. That is because each adjective is independent of the other, so commas are required between them.

I’m pretty sure this whole thread has only answered one question. As in the shimmering, colored lights.

Yes the answer where it said it undermined the author’s paragraph is correct. also, for the choices for the shimmering question it’s essentially between:

Shimmering colored lights
Or
Shimmering, colored lights.

I think the general consensus is that the second choice is correct.

Also does anyone remember “its” as an answer?
