The results of the June FEE have been posted!

Yes, I passed! :)

I passed too:-) Hi-five with geniezclone!

I passed as well. I really enjoyed the comment section. I liked how well thought out the responses were.

Yeah, high-five!

I liked the comments, too. They did keenly point out my strengths and weaknesses, but I would have liked them more if they had been more specific.

I passed, too, but I know MANY who did not. It's kind of sad, actually :(

My son entered the lottery early knowing that he would not have internet access this week. That's fine if he passed. What happens if he didn't? Does he have to take his name out of the lottery somehow? Or re-enter requesting a writing intensive course? Would it need to be done by Friday? Or does it all get sorted out at Orientation?

whoa LSA really? I always thought nearly everyone passes it - i didn't know they were so strict=(

If you don't pass, I don't think it hurts to be in the lottery -- you can simply remove yourself from the class with an add/drop form and enter a CI-HW class.

(The CI-HW classes aren't HASS-D and therefore aren't in the lottery.)

hey, i'm the one who might be considered as "didn't pass"... I have to take 21F.222 this semester. Anyway, I admit that I have some problems with English and it becomes clear, if you read some of my blog entries.

meder - if you live in Kyrgyztan, that certainly is a good excuse! Many of the "non-pass" people are probably native English speakers.

how do you know if you "passed"? does it just say "pass"?

...and where can i get my results?

thanks!

just kidding....i found it!

I PASSED! w00t!

I'm curious... if I wanted to do writing as my HASS concentration can I still take a CI-HW class? There are a couple of classes that I think are pretty cool and I'd like to take anyway (mostly because I like to write about the human experience). Do those classes count as credited classes and even if I had my requirements waived... can I still take them?

Yes, you're still allowed to take them. If you fail the FEE, you're required to take one, but if you want to take one, that's perfectly okay too.

I thought so. The summary essay was not easy.

Meder, don't worry. The class will only do you good!

Penthesilea, yes, if you pass the FEE but decide to take a CI-HW class, you will get credits for the class. The class will also be counted as a HASS Elective and as a part of the Communication Requirement.

ya the summary essay was hard/annoying....espeically because it was long and boring. They pretty much said to me lucky you did really good on your argumentative essay or you would have had to take a class. I thought their critiques were pretty detailed they even pointed out certain sentences and parargraphs on mine.

Wow, that's great. I guess we had different graders.

hehe, I remember what a relief it was to pass. Though the some of the comments on my essays really hurt my feelings! :P

If you don't pass, don't sweat it. I heard the writing classes are great at helping you improve your writing and really prepare you for the other HASS classes you will need to take.

yeah that 17-page article on global warming - that was the worst!
