junior chances: how can i improve [EC's]?

<p>so i am an African-American junior at a non-competitive school (the avrg SAT score is a 1350...out of 2400)
the best thing in our school is the IB program, which consists of a large fraction of the "cream of the crop"</p>

<p>GPA: 4.66 W, 3.8 UW
Rank: currently 1 out of ~400 but idk after this semester
Courses: two AP's last yr w/ 5's
jr yr-
AP Chem
IB bio
IB english
AP Spanish
IB/AP US history
Math Studies SL 1</p>

<p>SAT: i took it in November and got a 2030
670-Cr
630-M
730-W</p>

<p>EC's
hospital volunteer- 200+ hrs
school mentor/ hw helper
Spanish Club VP
Humanitarian Club treasurer
Interact Club secretary
Forensics- i've won some local awards but hoping to go to states next year
Quiz Bowl- same as above
i know...most of my ec's are school-related, but as an IB diploma candidate who cant drive, thus having almost zero CAS hrs, these are A LOT. </p>

<p>I have lots of awards, but mostly school-based. I am hoping to be a National Achievment finalist and an AP Scholar</p>

<p>work experience
- i work at McD's (hook??? LOL)
low income = <30k, family of 7 (i m the oldest and first generation)</p>

<p>major: spanish/micro-biology (pre-med track)</p>

<p>DREAM SCHOOLS, i.e. REACH for the stars!! No one in my school EVER gets into HYPMS or w/e u guys call it.
Princeton
Cornell
Harvard- i really want to apply here b/c they have the low-income initiative so i would have nothing to loose... except 12 hrs of flipping quarter pounders haha
UPenn
Duke</p>

<p>MATCH SCHOOLS- help me develop my list!
UVA
William and Mary
V-Tech</p>

<p>Your match schools are pretty much locks, to get to the ivies you have to raise your SAT to atleast over 2250.</p>

<p>I wish I was black and had stupid students to compete with.</p>

<p>You like a contender, though I would aim for the more sympathetic Ivies - Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell. They thrive on the impoverished, whereas Harvard, Yale, and Princeton rely more on cronyism and ridiculous academic scores only the most financially and socially privileged can obtain.</p>

<p>Good luck!</p>

<p>thanks-- anybody else?</p>
