Junior In need of advice

I am currently in a hole I dug myself freshman year all the way to junior year. I am half way through my second semester and my grades are below par. Actually pretty clueless from here, I’m interested in biology but will schools take me in with such a low GPA? Going into junior year I had a 2.89 GPA but I’ve improved a bit. Maybe some recommendations of colleges I should apply to?

ACT: 29 on my second try

Colleges like to see that you have improved, so in your personal statements explain your situation, but don’t make it seem as though you want them to feel sorry for you, show how you overcame that challenge. It will show your perseverance and determination. You should check the average ACT score for the colleges you want to attend, and it doesn’t matter if its your second time, colleges take your highest score.
