Junior Year- Which classes should you take?

I'm currently a junior and have always taken the hardest classes available to me by the school. It's a high ranked public school but it doesn't offer many APs. I'm currently taking AP Spanish and struggling (but then everyone is- the teacher for the class doesn't give As).

I currently have a B+ and after hearing many seniors rant to me about poor AP test grades (scores of 2 or 3) I've been having doubts. I can drop the class with no no record of the drop on my transcript if I do so before the end of the trimester, which is in about a month...

Should I drop AP Spanish and do regular Spanish? Or should I push through the class and get a B+/poor AP test score anyways?

A B+ in an AP course is not a problem. Stay in.

Most schools generally don’t care about your AP score. You’re not even required to report it if you don’t want to. Taking the AP course and getting a B+ is actually a lot more important than the AP test itself.

Love your username! Check with your guidance counselor to find out if s/he will still check “most rigorous course” if you change. Then decide where your heart lies. You definitely need at least 3 yrs FL but AP doesn’t matter. If you would rather spend your time saved from the tough Spanish class pursuing another interest, do it! Really, one B+ isn’t going to kill you but you have to look at your record as a whole and see how it will affect your GPA and whether that matters.

I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner… that was rude of me.
I just wanted to thank you two for encouraging me! I ended up pulling an A- for the trimester which I’m really happy about… so thanks for the advice!
