juniors ('09)! where do you want to apply?

I want to be a research chemist, right now. I wouldn't object to an optometrist, or a dentist. I wouldn't object to a DNA counselor, either. Although it might be kind of sad having to tell people "Your baby has a 50% chance to get _____" or "Your baby has cystic fibrosis."

I don't remember anything else right now.

The schools I am thinking about applying to are:
Sewanee (The University of the South)
Emory University (my sister attends there)
Wofford
Davidson
Rhodes
Vanderbilt

I haven't visited any schools yet, so that's still debatable. I want to stay in Sc, Ga, or Tn preferably. If Columbia wasn't in New York, I'd be all over it like white on rice. Same with Brown.

I doubt I'll apply to USC, Clemson, Winthrop or College of Charleston. (In state schools that the vast majority of my high school attends). I mighttt apply to Duke, just because it's about two and a half hours away and a nice place.

If you can think of any good schools in the Southeast, please don't hesitate to PM me or something. I'd love your suggestions.

i like how everyone here is aiming really high.
and i'm like "all ucs except for riverside and merced" .. BU, USC (but everyone at my school says anyone with "money" can get in? it's just, how can it be one of the tops if that's true?) , and georgetown if im lucky =p

im going into premed.
but i kinda want to major in some sort of art, and be like one of those "diverse major people" that apply to med school.

Amherst, Williams, Northwestern, Chicago, Pomona

brown, columbia, upenn, chicago, UM, UF

Top Choice: Cornell College of Engineering - EDing next year!
** Anyone else EDing to Cornel??**
If I don't get into Cornell:

M.I.T.
Stanford
Cal Tech
UC-Berkeley
Carnegie Mellon
Just for Fun:

Safety w/Full Ride on Hope Scholarship:
Georgia Tech (blah-> I'd commit suicide if I go here. =[ HATE GT. UGH)

Dang. I need to think up of more colleges...
this is NOT good.

I'll probably pick some reaches after I see my SAT scores, but Boston College is almost like a dream school for me and I think I have a good shot of getting in.

Boston College - Match
New York University- Match
Rutgers University (in state) - Safety
Boston University - Safety

I'm looking closely at: Dartmouth, Cornell, and Brown... trying to find out where I want to apply early. I'm visiting Dartmouth and Brown in March.

In order of preference:
1) Duke ED (Reach)
2) Yale (High Reach)
3) Princeton (High Reach)
4) Cornell (Reach / high match)

*Hoping to study Social psych/econ/philisophy

if all goes well, i will be a part of the pomona college class of '13.
that said, i love the idea of university of redlands- a safety, but an awesome one. i will apply to stanford also because i can do that, and i like rice u but i'm kind of sick of houston.

gmoney- i hope you get into pomona, but if it's me or you that gets rejected, i kinda hope it's you.

lol, in order of preference:

mit

(not that i'd get into any of them, perhaps the last one)

In rungs:

Oxford. Yes. seriously. Oxford.
Yale.
Chicago.
Rice, CMU (BHA).
Reed (maybe), Smith (maybe), maybe maybe maybe

Berkeley (in-state...)
UT Plan II, UVa

Did I mention Oxford?
sigh

I think I'm applying to Oxford too :)

Hellz yes!!!! Another American!! Par-tay. We can affect British accents together!

omg, i wanna apply to english schools too!

YAY Americans in England party :D
Any idea what you guys will be applying for? I think I'm applying for Mathematics & Statistics.

PPE at Oxford.

I hate that UCAS won't let you apply to both Cambridge and Oxford. But not enough to not apply. LOL.

Just had a cousin graduate from Cambridge. Be warned- there really harsh on admissions: they required her to take 5 AP tests her year and get 5's across the board to get accepted (on top of her 4 previous 5's). This is mostly because the British run on a 3-year system where you declare your major right away, so you're expected to get what would be "gen eds" out of the way before college.

Colleges? Deep Springs is where my heart belongs. My parents tell me otherwise.

Yeah, I know about that. I emailed the admissions people before, but luckily my school's pretty loose with APs, and I'll be graduating with a whole bunch.

MIT/Caltech - My top choices.... both are huge reaches for me though!

Georgia
South Carolina
Alabama
SMU
TCU
Michigan
Sewanee
Texas
