Just a little curiousity..

I plan on applying for admission as a transfer student the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities beginning in spring 2006 immediately following the current semester.

My stats:
North Hennepin Community College (MN)
A GPA of at least 3.8, I would love 3.9 or 4.0, but I might get a B in a couple classes :( Note that median GPA at the U of M CLA is 3.25

Volunteer as a tutor in the NHCC Writing Center about 11 hours a week, might get paid for it eventually, wouldn't care if I didn't.

Developed slavery project for the "HOPE Initiative," which is also going to result in a couple of recommendations if I need them. By the way, if you are interested in viewing the flash movie that I created for this, PM me- everyone who watched it really liked it!

History Major!

Questions:
What are the chances of getting scholarships?

Would it be considered early/late if I send in my application this May for the Spring 2006 semester? How would this effect my chances?

Would you recommend taking the ACT's to get a better chance? I scored a 25 on the pretest about a year ago. Note that this isn't required!

By the time I do apply, I will have written two extra ten page papers (the required length of three papers we are required to write is five pages) in American History (Irish immigration and FDR's motives/plans to go to war). Would these be of any help if deemed worthy by my current professors?

Thanks :)

If someone would be willing to help me here..
