UCB doesn’t factor in freshmen year for GPA, do they?
How would my GPA look then, if I had a 3.9 sophomore, 4.0 junior, and 4.6 senior?

only 10th and 11th grade classes count towards the gpa

Yes, hwtf is right. Freshmen and senior year applies toward credit requirements. Your GPA would include all UC-approved courses with up to 8 points extra on designated ap/honor courses. They will look at senior also to see the strength of classes taken

Do a lot of colleges just look at your sophmore and junior years?

on the same boat. 3.0 freshman year. 4.3 sophomore year. 4.8 junior year.

"on the same boat. 3.0 freshman year. 4.3 sophomore year. 4.8 junior year."

same, that's why im loving the UC system
i don't think a student should be left with that much responsibility for freshman year
i was jsut getting used to things and i was stupid
i hate that fact that for many ivies basically a freshman year that's bad would put you down the ****ter automatically....

I don't think that's necessary true. From what I've seen, many colleges, including the ivies, like to see significant grade increases. If they know that you continue to do well, and improve, then how much are they going to consider poor grades from three years ago. If you think about it, how different are you really from someone who has scored a 4.0 GPA? If you've shown that the years following were very good, then it shouldn't matter.
