Just curious...about moderators....

I have never contacted a moderator on this forum, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to contact a specific one? I just noticed that my post of congrats under alum's daughter's decision has a little line at the bottom that says, "last edited by trinity at such and such time". I was just wanting to ask her why she might be editing that very straightforward post? I didn't notice anything changed on it, but I have no idea why it would reflect an edit by her. thanks, ~berurah

Berurah, you can click on the name of any poster, including moderators, and then PM that person or email that person (unless they have disabled that function). However, moderators likely have enabled the PM or email functions and so do it that way. What you do not want to do is to discuss moderator's actions on the forum publicly as that is against the terms of service. So, email or PM the moderator with your question. I'm not sure what was edited in your post but you certainly can ask the moderator and do so via PM or email, not on the message board, just to follow the rules. Remember, just click on the blue posting name of any person, including moderators, to address them privately.

Susan

thanks susan! ~b.

You can also just go to Private Messages and type in the name of the person you want to contact. :)

probably just reformatted or selected a smaller font. (I just looked at it) Maybe your original entry was big enough to blow up the forum!? :)

oh....well, they probably shouldn't put tools at our disposal that they do not want us to use! :) ~b.

Berurah, the "edit" to your post was cosmetic: I simply downsized the font a bit. You may not have noticed in the past, but I had to do it quite a few times to mitigate the exhuberance of !!!!!!!!!!.

As you may know, some people "have" to use a larger font or a different display setting to be able to read the posts. The use of super large fonts may cause havoc on the size of the messages and cause an unfortunate jagged look.

Feel free to PM for any other questions.

See?? I am psychic! :) BTW, if you have visited other forum(s) you will know that this one is extremely well moderated. They moderate with moderation - you hardly know they are there, but they are there when needed. Makes for a nice forum environment. :)

thanks for the reply trinity!

We do appreciate your enthusiasm though, Berurah! At least I do!!!

When Swat or something else marvelous comes through for you son, the colors and font sizes will be a-flyin'!! That's a heads up for all of you folks who may be offended by such things!--You'd better scroll right on past my post or put on some sunglasses! :) ~b.

berurah - when andi's S gets "situated", I am going to trot out my font and color skills as well. Bet I won't be the only berurah imitator on that day! :D
Maybe we should start investigating new smilies for then, too.

NJres, thanks for the kind words regarding the work of the mods, and everyone else, thanks for appreciating that we mods are all trying to keep the forum a very positive environment.

Berurah, I do enjoy the enthusiastic style of your posts, and can only imagine what you are like in person! :)

Mod JEM

Awwwwww, JEM, I so appreciate your sweet post. I have been meaning to pm you to tell you how much both committed2duke and I loved your post on his Duke decision thread. It meant a great deal to us! fondly, ~berurah
p.s. And yes, I am that enthusiastic in real life too!!!!!! lol Just ask my kids--oh, and the neighbors who enjoy our BOLD door painting for all manner of celebrations. (Right now, it's still DUKE!) :)
