Hey buddy, if you think you can handle it, go for it. I don't know why your in such a big rush but if you pull good grades with a schedule like that I applaud you. One question though... how are you going to take econ 1 and econ 2 concurrently? Same question applies for english 1 and english 2.

I attended College of the Canyons and I'm pretty sure they would not have allowed someone to take that many units their first semester. At my school you needed a counselor to ok you for that many units first. The only way they would ok you is if you already demonstrated earning good grades.

I think you should take ~16 units your first semester and pile it on from there (since that appears to be your goal).

Hmm..I thought that was a bit, weird, but I emailed the counselor, and it seemed as if he had avoided the question...so is it not possible to take both?

The only logic I see in this schedule is if you want to transfer in 1 year. I would advise against it if you are planning to transfer in 2. You're going to have a lot of slack at the tail end while putting your grades in jeopardy during the first few semesters due to the heavy course load. These semesters are what UCLA will base your acceptance upon. Choose wisely and spread your classes out evenly.

Yeah, SMC is on the semester system. Man, that schedule is just...a mess. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone taking Eng 1 and 2 concurrently, lol (which is definitely not allowed as Eng 1 is a prereq of Eng 2, duh).

wow...seriously you should slow down. two years is A LOT of time (don't forget the summers) and taking too many units is not advised even if you do not think that the class would be too difficult. i took 18 units last semester and although the classes were not tough, it was a lot of actual work and also time spent just being at school. if you really want take a lot, 4 or 5 classes worth about 16 or 17 units a semester should be manageable. never two english classes at the same time (a whole lot of papers) and space out your science classes because of the 3 hour labs (but you only need two of those). i was only at CC for a year because i was at a private university before. if you like i can PM you what i did last year. i basically took all my pre-reqs and several of my igetc classes during my time at CC.

Thanks. Ok, I redid my schedule, and basically just took out Econ 2 and Eng 2..and that still amounts to 20 credits, should I take out Econ 15..that'll be around 17 credits...what do you guys think?

Be prepared for the system to not allow you to sign up for 20 credits for your first semester. Make sure you have a back up plan, which it sounds like you already do (taking out Econ 15).

The advice I can give you when taking a lot of units is to do all assignments right away. None of them will probably be that bad on their own, but it has the ability to get rather difficult since many instructors seem to assign things with due dates around the exact same time. This also goes for mid-terms. Somehow you will have a bunch back to back. And of course finals will all land at the same time.

So plan diligently, and don't put your assignments off at all and you'll probably end up fine. Good luck.

SMC actually has a 16 unit semester limit so you'll need to petition beforehand if you want to take more. Even then, I believe you need to have completed a certain number of units beforehand.

Are you planning on transferring in one year or something?
