JUST found out FA form is due in a few days!

Do you guys know what the SCHEDULE is? You have to mail in tax return, and W-2s, as well as SCHEDULE. Also do you have to mail in your OWN TAX RETURNS (even though I work at the library I don’t think I ever did my tax returns…). I have a W-2 though so I’m mailing that in.

SOOO BASICALLY: WHAT IS SCHEDULE?

Yes. You need to send in your tax returns if you made enough money at the library to have to file taxes.

Your schedule is the set of tax brackets that apply to your situation. If you file taxes:
As single you are Schedule X
As Married Filing jointly you are Schedule Y-1
As Married filing separately you are Schedule Y-2
As Head of Household you are Schedule Z.

These aren’t forms you need to complete, rather sets of data that applies to your situation.

So, what do we write on the mailing envelop to send them? I have the address but how do I indicate that these tax forms are from me?

so the CSS profile is online, but the Cornell FA App CANNOT be sent electronically, am I correct?

Which address do we use on our envelopes, the Undergrad Admissions office?

You can send it electronically here
[Upload Form](http://www.finaid.cornell.edu/forms/uploads.cfm)

if you choose to send documents by mail, send them here

Financial Aid Processing Center
349 Pine Tree Rd
Ithaca, NY 14850

thank you,

also, can anyone tell me what to put for “claimed on federal tax return of 2009” ?
I don’t understand what it’s asking.

It just means if your parents “claimed” you as a dependent (aka they pay for everything so they get a tax break). Most likely they claimed you Oo

okay, thank you so much for that quick reply, I’m panicking here!

Will sending in the FA forms about two-three days late affect admissions in any way?!

I don’t understand how we could do this when we (and our parents) haven’t recieved our W-2 s from work yet…this is insane. My parents haven’t done their tax returns…what am I supposed to do, tell my step-father to do it in 2 days even though ti took him 2.5 weeks last year? This is compeltely ridiculous to expect it this early when almost NO ONE does their tax returns this early…I’m not even sure how one would…

I haven’t started yet! but i already finished my CSS profile few weeks ago. Do I have to submit my CSS profile before I submit the FA form?

@gashergina, turning in FA forms late will NOT affect admissions. they’re separate offices and don’t collaborate with each other. and the deadline simply means that it’s first come first serve- not that your form won’t get considered because it arrives a few days late.

Flying_pheonix,

It’s cause they want you to use the 2008 tax forms you received last year, then update them with the 2009 ones once they come in.

And anyone have an opinion on just how much being late could delay finding out about aid?

This is stupid as hell. I just found out they were due yesterday. I really didn’t expect any school to start until late January.

Do you guys think they’ll just stop accepting forms after a week or so, or do we have some leeway.

@Aero: I think leeway. Try to get em in ASAP though. This week is best.

Does anyone know if most financial aid application statuses are updated? I uploaded the Cornell FA application online before the due date, but never received a confirmation e-mail. I also faxed over the taxes. However, when I logged into my Cornell online account, it said both were still on my “To Do” list. Anyone else in the same boat?

Oh, whatever.

I’d rather go to UChicago, and I got in there, so why should I do financial aid forms for Cornell? I applied RD, and I probably won’t get in anyway.

Why wasn’t I notified of this earlier? Aren’t we supposed to apply for financial aid closer to late February? The FAFSA only just came out.

stupid question: I’m on the collegeboard site now, and they say Cornell requires this by the 5
