Just got a large envelope out of the mail -

So, are you last three Monroe Scholars?

I am! 10 char

Ahh. Any out of state (NJ) get one yet?

Yes, I’m a Monroe Scholar.

I believe that WM Admin indicated that they were to be send on Wednesday so I would think NJ maybe tomorrow or Saturday???

Thanks for that info. My son gave W&M a call this afternoon. They confirmed the mailing, but wouldn’t give any additional information out over the phone. We live in VA, but we’re very rural, so if he’s getting a letter, it may not be here until Saturday. We’ll just have to be patient and keep our fingers crossed!

Yes, I got my decision today: Monroe Scholar. I’m in state though.

Yeah, Monroe admits have traditionally gone out early if I remember past years correctly.

Thanks for all of the info.

I had to come back and close the loop on this. Lots of celebrating & tears at our house tonight. DD came home just now, she opened the packet. I was expecting Monroe Scholarship, based on everything posted here - I did not say anything to her, just waited. She opened it and she has been designated as a W&M Scholar award recipient! Lots of tears, we are so grateful! We still cant believe it.

2011VAMOM–Huge Congrats to your DD! Wow what a great honor!

My DS received the envelope today also! He was very happy to receive the Monroe Scholar award! I just got home from work and no one had checked mail because it’s been raining all day. I told him I thought Santa must have come early. We weren’t even expecting anything!!!

Congrats to all Monroe Scholars!

ceresma - I just saw this but yeah I’m in-state. My objective info is 1490 SAT and 3.98 unweighted GPA

All this is making me super anxious! Do we know any day for RD without the scholarship?

And congrats to everyone who got in with the scholarship!!

Congrats to all of those who have received scholarship notifications! Those admission offers are sent by mail only and left our office on Wednesday afternoon. We realize they have made it to some areas yet but not to all. Generally, we have seen letters arrive in applicant’s mail boxes anywhere from one day to one week after they leave our office.

Both Monroe Scholars ([William & Mary - James Monroe Scholars Program](http://www.wm.edu/as/charlescenter/scholars/monroe/index.php)) and William & Mary Scholars were notified in this mailing (there are some students who are both and that notification comes in the same letter). Remember that these admission offers make up less than 10% of our overall admission offers so most admits (and all waitlists and denies) have not yet been released.

We do not have an exact date for when the remaining decisions will be released (done via email) but it will be early April at the latest and as soon as that date is known we will post it to our website, CC, and other social media outlets.

Does that mean international students also receive decisions by snail mail? Yikes, if decisons are posted early April, that means my student might possibly not hear until mid to late April. A bit of a worry.

Thanks for that info W&M Admissions. It is interesting that some people receive recieve both designations.

D was thrilled about the W&M Scholars but was pining over the Monroe Scholars benefits last night. Grateful, but of course was looking at Monroe.

Is it true that she can apply to be a Monroe Scholar after her Freshman year?

Mail came … nothing today maybe tomorrow!

Got the big envelope today in MA!

Got it in NJ today =D =D =D So, so, so, so, so happy!!

Thanks W&M Admissions for everything! Congrats to everyone else-- hopefully (pending financial aid) I’ll be seeing you in Williamsburg this fall!

Dreams really do come true sometimes :)

Congrats Bandgeek! I’ve seen how nervous you’ve been!

VAMom, Congrats to your daughter too. However, please don’t let her pine; she is so lucky to recieve the W&M Scholars award, most people did not receive any kind of award at all. She is very fortunate.

I got in!!! Came home to a big white envelope in the mail - Pennsylvania resident. So excited!! :)
