Just got back from New York City...

i agree with csmim. my first day in nyc i was overwhelmed and didnt like it, but i was with a native and got to know the city more and more and even started to want to live there.

Oh it's like a drug addiction. You hate it sometimes but you just can't live without it :p

"fanny packed midwesterners" -- soooo true. lol, theyre EVERYWHERE!

ps, does anyone have the problem wher ethe reply box is no longer at the bottom of the screen so you have to click "post new reply"? its sorta annoying.

No, I have the reply box. Maybe you accidentally switched a setting?

Diana, so were you just visiting casually or there for an event?

Yeah, I was there for just casual visiting, but it was lucky that the fair was going on. And thanks, the point of the thread was to discuss the trip...NYC in general.

For people who live there....is it always this crowded or is just a seasonal thing?

I seriously cannot get over how pretty it looks at night though. You guys really are lucky :D

It's hard not to be crowded when you have more than 8 million people in a limited amount of space. But in the summer there are more tourists and people go outside more and the heat makes it seem more crowded.
But yea, you'll never have a day without traffic :)

I think I'm pretty used to traffic....but not that much. Drivers in New York are crazy lol. Like when my dad was drving in, all these people would just cut him off...and drive really close in the next lane to get in front of him. Reminds me off this joke that I heard, that in New York City when you turn on your turn signal, its an excuse for the person in the next lane to speed up so you can't get in lol :D:D:D. Yeah....well I think its funny lol.

Great college town though!!!

you want to see bad drivers... go to new jersey!
i was nearly killed about a million times visiting my friend in montclair.

haha there's a reason why us jersey-ans are charged the highest insurance premium in the u.s.

but yea diana, i'm glad you enjoyed nyc, i'm actually going to school there in about 3 weeks. what's not to like about the greatest city in the world?

Greatest city in the world lol....maybe. I might be biased lol. What school are you going to?

"fanny packed midwesterners"

HAHAHAHAH! Thats brilliant. Next time I am run over by tourists I will DEFINITELY use that.

diana ill be attending nyu.

You're going to NYU!!! Congrats BigRed!!!! :D:D:D

thank you so much! it was so sad without it.
