the letter seems really similar to the northwestern rejection letter looks like hes faking it

i don't know if this relates but in my gtown acceptance letter, it said gtown university the first time and then shortened it to gtown every other time it was mentioned. this is consistent with the op's posted letter that has cornell university the first time and then cornell every other time.

ynos, good luck in the future. i know these sound like empty words but i'm sure you will achieve great success in life.

No, it's real. My older brother got rejected a few years back, and his letter sounded nearly identical to the one posted here.

What does that prove... he could have just pasted an old rejection letter here.

are you guys *ing kidding me? give it a rest, it's not fake. stop being such psychos with your grammar analysis and scanning *. jesus christ.

Aww cut homeboy some slack...even if it WERE fake, what's the big deal???

And I thought I was nuts

Enough with the psychology stuff. Sheesh.

It's clear that the people who are questioning the OP's rejection letter are inundated with paranoia developed after months of reading dubious and biased statistics/"facts" on this site and perhaps self-delusion in convincing themselves that no one actually gets rejected from Cornell because to admit to such a thing is to have to face the possibility of their own rejection on April 1st.

it's fake ! it' s fake ! it's fake !

just kidding man who the f cares lol. If you are rejected I am sorry but if you are accepted and this is a joke congratulations!

I can't believe some of you guys! I got the same letter -- the poor kid isn't lying!

Yeah, I believe U, limkid.

BTW, i am an intl applicant and haven't got such an email. Can it be interpreted as a good sign?:)

I must say I am disapointed in many of you. I am usually impressed with the level of civility demonstrated in the Cornell forum. As moderator of the Cornell forum, I find myself fortunate and priviledged to be associated with all of you. But the treatment of the OP in this thread has been less than examplary. There was no sign of flaming or deceit in the original message. Chances are, Ynos was indeed turned down and we have not exactly been a very supportive bunch.

I think it should also be pointed out that many of the posters were very supportive of ynos. The rest of you are being ridiculous, plenty of schools have notified international applicants already.

well said alexandre i take back by previous comments it seems he got rejected jus like i am going to get hehe

why would someone fake a rejection.... or for that matter an acceptance?

I'm an international and I got my acceptance letter from Cornell, CAS.

CONGRATS!! im an int'l as well. applied CAS for CS. where do u live?

I am international as well and just got my wait list letter. Does anyone know how long the wait lists usually are? I applied to CAS too

Wow! I'm really amazed by the overwhelming response to this thread. Well... For the skeptics... I swear that I REALLY REALLY got the letter. I knew that I was a goner the very second I saw that THIN envelope lying on my table with the Cornell sign on the top left hand corner. THIN=GONE! It was an international priority air mail. The letter from Cornell was dated March 25th and I received it on March 29th. For those who still refuse to believe me,you'll just have to wait and see. Probably ain't going to be long now since March 31st is like tomorrow. If you are rejected, you can bring that sickening piece of paper, put it up next to your monitor and match it word for word to my opening post and let that sinking feeling set in. Of course, that's assuming that Cornell sends out the same rejection letter.

Oh. And for those who doubted the authenticity of the letter I received and claimed that the letter had grammatical mistakes, well... let's hope that if you applied to Cornell and did get admitted, adcoms won't come across this thread and find out that you actually raised questions about their language ability. Doesn't reflect well on a person right? Chill everyone. The letter is REAL. Just got to accept it and move on. Thanks for the many words of encouragement. I got over it after a good night's sleep.

ynos, you're a very well-qualified applicant! I know you'll enjoy a great undergrad education anywhere in the US and show Cornell that they rejected the wrong person! Kudos to you... I wish you the best of luck in your life! :)

ynos i guess im joining the club...i applied RD COE...got rejected...my GC knew some1 in the adcom n she emailed her the decisions early...damn i just wish i got the letter on 1st april with the rest...now this makes me feel as if im gonna get rejected evrywhere i applied...
