just got my ssat's, will this help me??

I got lucky on my ssat's, I got a total of 2376 (99th percentile, 800, 800, 776) I'm applying to Andover, Northfield Mount Hermon, Westtown, George School, and Lawrence academy. Will this help my chances a lot? I have a very good but not amazing academic record, and I play varsity sports for my school. I don't have many ec's besides hobbies of my own, but not organized stuff. Also, I'm white :P Thoughts?

your scores are pretty high, as lond as your academic stats are decent I'd say you have an awesome chance! Two 800's! wow.

yes wow....
u did awesomely! lol be happy
and yes i think it will help your chances in getting into the schools.
i got total 2286

Now with all your high 90 percentiles on this board, my self-esteem has plumetted. I'll be lucky if I got a 90

It won't gain an advantage at Andover, but it will keep you in the running. I think it will be an advantage at your other 4 schools, especially if they want to raise their average SATs. That doesn't mean you're in for sure, but I think your application will get extra attention. Congratulations!

It won't help tremendously, but it's definitely good. Congrats! :)

Yes, that will definitely help! Even at Andover, it will. I suggest you apply to more top schools (AESDCH)

"I play varsity sports for my school. "

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, do you plan on playing any of these sports at bs? If so, contact the coach. What sports do you play? Send him videos and any other information that you may have about your skill level. Coaches really do have pull.

Lucky. I didn't even got mine back because I wasn't careful enough to notice that our VISA was on hold for payment due. lol. It's very heartbreaking to see no delivery date in my account ;(
99th is just fantastic! With your mark, you won't have any problem getting thrown out with SSAT. at least. ECs are just as important, but if you managed to pull something out of your memory to write it down, it certainly won't be a problem :) (I even wrote that I participated in competitive gingerbread house contest in Grade 7!)

omfg.

YOU GOT A 99.

THAT'S THE HIGHEST YOU CAN GET ON THE SSAT.

THAT MEANS YOU DID REALLY GOOD.

I am so sick of these people with perfect scores and they ask if it will help them.

OF COURSE IT WILL.

Jonathan, calm down. :) It's an honest question. Since everyone says "SSAT scores aren't everything" (which they aren't), it could easily seem like it doesn't matter if you get a high score, only if you get a low one.

Jonathan, I'm sorry if I presented it that way. What I meant to ask, I guess, is whether a high score helps you or just keeps you in the running.

keeps you in the running

It keeps you in the running for schools like AESDCH, and sometimes helps for schools with lower scores.

true datttttt

what grade r u applying for sam_N?

ps great job on that ssat- those are some pretty nice scores. :D

I'm applying for grade 11, and thanks

I thought the ssats were only for grade 9 and 10 applicants and that older students were supposed to take the psat? can anyone clarify?

I think it varies by school.

Both tests are acceptable for eleventh grade applicants.
