Just got rejected from UW Seattle for Winter 2019; Should I apply again for Fall 2019?

So I just got an email from UW Admission office, telling me that I was denied from acceptance for Winter 2019.

After completing the required classes at my local community college, I applied as a transfer student for the bachelor degree in UX Design, and this particular degree is only offered in UW Seattle out of all the universities in Washington as Bachelor.

My last GPA from EDCC was bit shallow, but I was hoping it was good enough for acceptance. If not, I was hoping my personal statement, which I put all my efforts and emotions into, was gonna get me in. I guess neither was good enough

I can see that admission will open again at December for Fall 2019, but I am really doubting it will make a difference. I don’t know what I could do differently by then.

Go meet with the transfer advisor at your CC, and ask that person to help you determine what went wrong with your application. The transfer advisor should be able to get useful information for you. For example, if there is a specific articulation agreement for the major, there may just be one piece you are missing.

The thing is, the classes I took were already planned with the transfer advisor. I honestly think there’s nothing wrong with the classes I took; I think it was either the performance or the personal statement

Application volume relative to space available may be significantly different for different quarters in the academic calendar. So it may be significantly easier or harder to get admitted in the fall versus winter quarter. Perhaps that can be a question to ask your transfer advisor about.

List your stats. Also maybe you have a low credit balance? Priority is given to 90 credits or AA.

A low GPA from your community college is most likely the primary reason for your rejection. The University of Washington at Seattle is a very serious school–especially so for junior & senior years.

“My last GPA from EDCC was bit shallow,”

This sounds like it is probably the issue, but it is hard to know without knowing your actual GPA. I think that you need to post your actual stats if you want realistic comments on whether it is worth applying again for Fall 2019.

Also, try to get the best grades that you can for your current classes.

If you’ve already maxed out on transfer credits and you don’t have the GPA, it’s probably best to meet with your transfer advisor and look at other places you could study.

Would Interactive Media Design at UW Bothell be a fit?

Yesssss!! I know someone you was rejected in fall and got in for winter!
