Just got THE letter in the mail!

Large envelope, big blue folder inside.

in houston... haven't gotten anything yet.

ahhh I'm in Europe...I guess I won't get anything tomorrow.

Oh dear, I'm thinking that people in WA will get theirs tomorrow...I have no idea what to expect. Congrats, Lupe, washableglue, and treesnogger (love your name)!

Hahaha I keep imagining getting mine on April Fool's day, with a letter that says "CONGRATS...you've been rejected."

Challenging101, it came in a 9x12 white envelope with USPS Priority Mail sticker on it. In the upper left corner, below the return address, there is a caricature of really buffed out Sagehen wearing football jersey giving you "thumbs up." Below it says, Class of 2012.

Inside is a blue folder with the same Sagehen that says "Congratulations" on it. The letter inside is two pages long, and starts off with "Warmest congratulations!" underlined in blue ink.

It goes on to state that they received about 6300 applications for 380 spots.

"You were deferred right? Did you send anything after you were deferred?"

Skyhawkk08,

yep -I was deferred... that was kind of why i was surprised that i got in... i thought i would be waitlisted or rejected...

and yes, i did send in additional stuff -2 letters of rec (i have a feeling only one actually made it there in time to be reviewed)...

Good luck!

hmm if it was postmarked on the 27th, i wonder if it will make it to connecticut by tomorrow....or maybe April 1st

I Will Cry If My Envelope Is Small

All of my envelopes crossing the country in the other direction have taken two days save Swarthmore's. Wesleyan (CT) --> Claremont was two. So expect it, I think.

No mail in AZ. ):

no Priority Mail to east coast today either. I am afraid that means no.

I got the acceptance today in the Midwest... I actually wasn't sure whether I would get in-- my interview certainly wasn't anything spectacular, and I was stupid and totally forgot about the signature form (and I sent my fee twice... the people in the admissions office probably thought I was an idiot. Not to mention that when I went to visit Pomona our car alarm went off in the parking lot...) But anyway, I had a 35 ACT, 800 and 720 SAT II's (Math II and Lit), 2250 SAT, 4.0 UW (1/700ish) with 7 AP's, NMF, probably less than average extracurriculars-- piano was my big one, and hockey up until this year when I wasn't good enough to make varsity, haha. Band and other misc. ECs. But, for anyone on the waiting list, maybe spots will open up... I am almost 99% sure that I'm not going to Pomona because I don't qualify for FA, and they don't offer merit aid when other colleges did. Unless anyone has any suggestions? I really did like the school... like, pretty much everything about it... it's just too ridiculously expensive--I have to pay for one year's worth on my own.

Edit: I thought I'd add, I liked my supplemental essay about what I do for fun. It was a quick one, but I thought it definitely showed what kind of guy I am/what I do for fun over the summer :)

omg i got in! so excited. waitlisted at williams and swat tho. interesting

got a letter today on the east coast

i got accepted today from nyc

waitlisted.
