Just moved into my Dorm room @ UV Towers

I just move into the UV tower today and it was quite the experience. I arrived about 12:30 pm, which was earlier than my arrival time, however my roommate had moved in but was not there the whole day so I didn't get the chance to him because I had to come back home because I have work the next day. However, it was very exciting. But I did forget a lot of things to bring with me so make sure u have everything if u live very far. Also, I learned that my roommate is a neat freak unless his mom unpacked for him. LOL He sure loves Arizona Tea.

seems fun .

lol I wish I could move in early…

sounds cool

early move in? university housing uvt move-in is 20/21st, but skate8975 might have done housing with uvt via their own leasing office.

Arizona Tea and a neatfreak? sounds like me. lol

Is UV Towers internet still part of resnet?

Well?..

I want to know if i should bother bringing my router or not.

txting my buddy from uvt, should know soon o.o

Niceeeeee.

She doesn’t think so. so go for it! bring a router.
i know regular uvt rooms are by charter cable n not resnet, but wanted to double check with xtina who lived in the ucr uvt room.

EternalIllusion

Well in my room I picked up wireless internet fine with my mac laptop and had full bars all around my room. I picked up the internet from a local fast food place and my room is in the far back next to the freeway. About the rooms they are a pretty big size, however there are no lights in the room besides the bathroom light, so bring about three big lamp to have light during the night/day. About the router, it wouldn’t hurt bringing it.

Thanks for the info.

to add onto to skate8975 (8975, atm pin? lol)
the floors that UCR rents out from UVT are on the top of the north building where wifi is hard to get from local restaurants. the city of riverside offers free internet for all its residents (ATTFREEMETRO, goggle it for more info) however the speed is slow…

Ya but there’s wired internet in the rooms ya? So no worries on the wifi. Ima set up my own wifi.

how is fast/stable is the charter cable up here? I’m used to Cox Cable and their service is amazing. The place I’m staying at has Direct TV and it’s slow/unstable compared to them : /
