So I just saw my scores this morning: 630 CR 800 Math 660 Writing with an 8 essay. That is a total score of 2090. Now I do feel I can improve my writing and CR; I'm actually surprised I did that bad on CR, I usually get in high 600s. Anyways, I'm a junior right now, and this was my first time taking the SAT. If I were to retake it, I would be taking it in October. The March SAT is too soon, there wouldn't be much improvement if I cram now anyways. May SAT is way too close with AP season, and I don't want to have both APs and SAT to worry about at once. I have a local SAT prep class that I took in winter break and it helped tremendously, and they also have a summer long SAT prep class as well. I am willing to take the summer class to help my score. Do you guys think it's worth retaking it? The colleges I am thinking about going to are UCLA, USC, UCI, UCSD, Cal Tech.

Are you in-state?
I think that you should take it again just to improve the chances of getting in to UCLA and getting scholarship.
Remember that UC’s don’t do superscore, so you should try to bring your score up!

Best of luck

Yes I live in California

If you’re seriously considering Caltech, you should probably retake.

Retake if less than 2300

Well I’m considering a major in computers (programming or engineering) so that’s why I’m interested in cal tech.
