To retake, or to not retake

Hello,
On the October sat I got a 2260. 780 math 780 cr and 700 writing. I am planning on applying to colleges like brown and caltech. My question is, should I retake the sat to get a higher writing score? also, does the writing score matter as much as the others? Thanks a lot guys

buummpppppp

oh and btw i know that’s a good score, im not just trolling or something

I wouldn’t retake. A 2280 is very strong and will be looked on favorably at either of the two schools you mentioned. Chances are that your CR and Math would fall, and writing is volatile.

anyone else?
especially since the average sat score of caltech is so high?

Are you a junior? senior? is this your 1st time? Are you asian?

im a senior that was my second time and im white

If your scores improved, I’d say keep it. thats an excellent score. Besides, taking it too many times may seem desperate should all your scores be sent out, which usually doesnt happen.

Sometimes I hate this website >_<
A 226O IS AMAZING. Chill and enjoy your senior year!!! (I’m a senior with a similar score.)
