I got a 26 composite on the Feb ACT and had already decided to send those scores before taking the test, not knowing I was going to do so poorly. This was my first time and I hope to bring it up. Will UNC actually see that score? I know they superscore so if I do better next time is there a chance that the 26 is just not seen at all? I’d imagine they have a systematic way of handling the scores.
They will see it but they take into consideration your best overall performance, including superscoring parts. Will you take the ACT only or will you take the SAT too? Some perform better on one standardized test over the other.
@smack28752 I am taking the SAT in May and plan to do much better considering my PSAT scores I am confident that I can perform better than that 26 but am hoping that it won’t have a negative impact on the decision process.
Concentrate on the SAT, build on your PSAT performance and you will be fine. My daughter’s first submission would not have gotten her in. She worked and improved and the admissions group saw that and recognized the progress.
Remeber that while standardized test scores are important, they are only part of what is considered. Essays and ECs will help build a compelling case for admission if they are strong. Best of luck to you!
