The reception on the 8th is for people who will most likely get in.

The Sunday at the Square is for people who NYU really likes but who will not necessarily get merit money (might get $, but not as much as DEAN’s Scholars)

The D.E.A.N scholarship ($25,000 merit money) is for extremely exceptional people–only 50 people get this out of all of the NYU applicants–these people get their flight paid for and get to stay at NYU for three days (all paid for by NYU). These people will also get to be part of the Freshman Honors Seminar Program if they attend NYU in the fall

Obviously the DEAN scholarship is for highly qualified applicants who will probably get in anywhere. DEAN stands for “Diversity in Experience and Academics at New York University”

This may sound silly, but I'm really confused. The reception on the 8th- are you referring to the Sunday at the Square letter or the College of Arts and Sciences Reception?

Just to add to the confusion, LOL....Ok, so my daughter got the Saturday in the Square invitation which we realize is an indication that she will be accepted to Tisch when decisions come out. The invitation was from Tisch. I realize this goes to a selected group of students from the total accepted so kids can get accepted who did not get this invitation. Today she got a letter that she is selected as a University Scholar and it said about 15 kids get that (from Tisch). This is an Honors College sort of thing as well...perks, etc. No word regarding money. I am guessing this does not mean a scholarship but an honor. Does anyone else know? In any case, it was still very nice to receive it.
