Ok, so I am sure this topic comes up alot, but I am just curious how good your grades should be after being accepted for the remainder of your time at your present institution. I ask only because they say in their deposit letter that they want the grades from your final semester (or in my case, trimester) and that they should be up to par with what you had been getting. I haven't been doing as well this term, should i worry?

What are your grades ? They'll obviously let some Bs slides. The college probably has some sort of a matriculation agreement where you're not supposed to get anything below a C. Just guessing.

I know what you mean though. This semester isn't nearly as good as my other ones, filling out applications and getting recommendations really takes a lot out of you, as well as being time-consuming.

as long as you get a C or above you are fine

I remember, after getting accepted to Berkeley, that they required a C or better for the English composition and American Cultures requirements but a B or better for Diff. Eq. and Linear Algebra (5 unit class). Thank goodness I had a laid back Math professor. =O

My GPA is going down. My cumulative is 3.46, yet my GPA for this semester will be 3.0.

UCLA BizEcon in Fall. Hope I wont get my status revoked.

I highly doubt it.

My GPA was 4.0 last semester, this semester it may be around 2.5, I hope UPenn won't rescind my admission

REJECTED FROM MIT...

did you send in ur final transcript??? with a 2.5!!???

did they see it?

Yikes. I'm in the same boat.. last couple of months have been so stressful, for one of my classes I think I've only attended like 2 class meetings and the midterms.. lol. Not too sure what I'll be getting in that class but my assignments are all in... The only thing I'd worry about now is my GPA will go down and that will have a nasty impact for when I apply to grad school or law school ><

My GPA might be under 3.0 :(

I did not send in my final transcript yet because I'm not done yet with the spring semester but I'm expecting something around 2.5 maybe a bit higher, I hope they won't revoke my admission for that.

if i got a W on my transcript, will they revoke my admission? my friend said AO usually wont revoke unless some rare situation.

sitting pretty after two finals and my final honors session: A+ in Calc 3, A+ in CHEM 410 (Quantitative Analysis) and perfect score in Math Honors Seminar. only diff equations to go :) .

for the rest of you guys, step it up and finish strong. many of you i'm sure have finals still to take. don't give up, and don't look for the easy way out. stick with what got you guys here and you should all do fine. best of luck to you guys the remainder of the year.

My GPA will be lower, but I doubt anything severe. To vandyboy: doesn't seem like a single W alone is enough to revoke an admission.

I had a 3.54 when I was accepted into WashU. I got a 3.09 this semester with a D. My admissions status is secure. But...I also got 3 As in 4000 level classes, so I don't know how they do it?

i definately gonna go to grad school, so I maintained my GPA so that it won't hurt my chances to get into grad school

Damn, think about how sucky that would be to get admission revoked after your entire family celebrated, all your friends congratulated you, you payed a registration deposit and a housing deposit...

dearsiryes - you'd better keep that GPA up if you wanna hang out in law school someday ;)

vandyboy, I got a W for one of my classes and Berkeley revoked my admission. After two weeks of intense war -- nuking the phone at Berkeley as well as my community college and leaving gazillion messages to all the deans until it left them insane, Berkeley gave me admission for Spring of '08 -_- I know. What am I suppose to do until then? Grr...

luckily, my dad randomly told me his good friend's husband is the dean of the literature department (the dept I'm going to...) and he said the dean will talk to the admissions peeps. But again this is just luck... this definitely wouldn't be happening if I was going through it on my own. (however the circumstances I dropped the course were unbelievably severe)

I guess through my experience what I learned is NO BODY cares about you at the school you go to.. they may sympathize but if it means for them to have to work extra to get you approved or fix a problem, they won't do it. My case was delicate and painful and no body helped me... I had to go through it on my own.

I've heard similar stories of some of my friends going through universities feeling like the faculty genuinely doesn't "care" for you, because they have about 200 students per class etc. It's disheartening but then I read stories like the ones from Virginia Tech, about the teacher that survived Holocaust and decided to risk his life for students, now that's very admirable.

to Rogue, thank for your reply, so are u saying my W will make them revoke the admission? I am so scared right now because it really sucks and I can not do anything about it.
