Kelley LLC or Honors Floor?

What are the benefits/negatives for both?

Pros for the LLC include meeting lots of other business majors and located close to Kelley (McNutt is easily the best location on campus if you plan on going to football and basketball games).

Con is that you have to go to several LLC events which I’ve heard aren’t the most exciting. You also take an extra 1 credit blowoff class each semester, but I’ve heard the classes can be fun. That probably depends on the person if it’s a pro or con.

For honors floors, you don’t have to take any extra classes or go to Kelley events. You will also meet more people outside of Kelley. Living on an honors floor might be quieter, but the rooms are fairly soundproof when the door is closed anyway. I didn’t live in the LLC or an honors floor, but I spent a lot of time in the LLC and live with 2 former LLC residents now.

Okay thanks that’s super helpful. I think I might want to do honors but do you know if I would have more opportunities with alumni and internships at the KLLC? @iubaccounting

Living in the LLC is almost certainly not going to get you an internship. There are some networking events, but they are more about learning than building lasting relationships with people. There are also plenty of non-LLC events you can go to voluntarily. Getting internships is mostly about connecting with recruiters at career fairs, having a good resume, and being good at interviewing. Kelley does a pretty good job of teaching you all of those things.
