kelley transfer student

I was curious to know what my chances were in getting accepted to kelley school of business this fall. I am a transfer student from a satellite IU school and will be a sophmore enrolling in the fall semester. I have completed 34 credit hours as they are all transferring and have a cumulative GPA of 3.6. Im not really sure what classes I should take this fall as far as ensuring that I can maintain a B or higher in all my courses. I have not received a B- or below in any course. Should I avoid taking A-100 since it is not a kelley requirement and take it once I have been accepted into the business school? Also, I am currently taking A201 in the summer session at IUSB and it is transferring directly to IU. Since there is no prereq. at IUSB for A201 I have an advantage as far as knowing the information necessary to do well in A100 if I take it in the fall. Besides these things, will be difficult for me to get in or are my chances good? Any feedback would be of great help and relief, thanks.

The minimum course requirements for transfer students are similar to those for regular admits. Residency wise, you have to have completed a semester at Bloomington before you apply. Since you will already be a sophomore this Fall, I am guessing you want to complete your I-Core requirements this Fall and Spring in Bloomington so that you can take I-Core in Fall 2011. If that is the case, then you should definitely take A100 next fall. It shouldn’t be hard for you after taking A201. It is not required to get into Kelley, but it is a requirement for taking I-Core. And definitely have W131, and three of the following four courses finished by the end of the Fall semester: X100, K201, M118, M119.

You should be able to figure out the classes you need to take. For sure I would look into taking E270 in South Bend instead of E370 at IUB.

As far as you chances of getting in, keep getting all B’s and higher and it seems like you would get in easily, especially since you will probably already have completed all the I-Core prerequisites before Kelley makes their decision. You will have a whole year of IUB courses by then for them to base their decision on.

Thanks bthomp1. I was going to take E270 at IUSB but I decided to take A201 instead since I would have a bit of an advantage as far as A100 is concerned for the fall semester. I have already completed M118, M119, E203, E204, W131, and K201 as well as SPCH-S121 which is public speaking. I have completed other courses as well to count towards my 34 credits. Im not sure if you know much about IUSB but just out of curiosity, how much more difficult are classes at IU-Bloomington compared to its satellite school? I have an idea, but I just want some feedback on that. Thanks.
