Kind of confused about a-g requirements

One of the requirements for the UC a-g thing is that you must have 2 years of foreign languages, 3 years recommended. I’ve taken 3 years of French, but the first year was at middle school, so will they credit me with 2 years or 3 years of foreign language when using this scoring: <a href=“http://henry.sandi.net/college/application/ucsd_application_scoring.htm[/url]”>http://henry.sandi.net/college/application/ucsd_application_scoring.htm</a> ?

Also, does Drumline count as a Visual and Performing Art? I hope not… because I missed a performance bcuz I overslept and now I have a C in that class.

<p>What is drumline? Usual visual and per arts is drama and painting/drawing/sculpture, not music.</p>

<p>Will your f-lang middle school year be on your transcript? If so then a clear yes, otherwise, I'm not sure.</p>

<p>I've always thought that Visual and Performing Arts included music though, because I know that orchestra counts for that requirement, but I'm not sure if Drumline counts. Drumline is kind of like marching band, except with drums and mallets and no trumpets or horns.</p>

<p>You need to find a list of UC-approved courses for your school (if it's in California). Use pathways to find the UC approved course list or google it.</p>

<p>If you go to a California public high school, you may be able to find out what specific courses at your school are A-G eligible. Unfortunately, when I tried it just now, the link to the high school info didn't work:

<p>Music IS part of the Visual and Perf. Arts Requirement. I took Beginning Band and it counted towards the requirement.</p>

<p>your french 1 you took in middle school whether it was a 1-year program or 2 year program will be counted by semesters, and probably be considered as one year of french if they are the same class.</p>
