Lack of leadership

<p>Hi,
Just wondering how much it will affect me, if I did not have a leadership role in my main ecs? </p>

<p>Because the only leadership positions I have are in my volunteer work. For My two main volunteer projects, I was the leader of the group and I organized everything from the organization to volunteer to the timings, etc. </p>

<p>However my main ccas, like drama, varsity cricket, math club, I dont have a leadership, but I do have national awards in the ccas. </p>

<p>Will this affect adversely on my application or will colleges realize that I have led in some areas and am capable to do so.

<p>Not much, if at all, if you play it right. As is often the case, look to your personal statement to smooth over any problems that concern you with your application. The truth is that you probably can’t check every box perfectly on an application, so this is a relatively minor issue. That said, if in your personal statement you play up the leadership roles that you did have, nobody is going to say “she was only a leader in some areas, but not others.” Focus on the idea of leadership in your essay and talk about the things that you did do.</p>
