Lafayette College RD (Class of 2021)

D received her acceptance today with a very personalized letter. It mentioned her major and a couple of her extra curricular activities by name - a very nice touch. It came USPS with today’s mail. We are in CT. Accepted student day called “Experience Lafayette College” is Sunday, 4/23

D was accepted as a Marquis Scholar! Hands down BEST acceptance letter ever. Just incredible how they put so much time and thought into writing their letters.

Just heard that my nephew was accepted and received the Marquis Fellows award. I am beyond happy for him!

Nothing here yet in the east bay

Nothing here yet in Tennessee.

Can merit scholarship people please post stats?

@lizthelizard I got the Marquis Scholar award ($24,000/yr) and I had a 3.9 UW GPA, 4.3 ish W GPA, 2210 SAT, many many ECs and a strong directional focus for IR (dual citizen, tons of related ECs, traveled a lot, etc).

D accepted with Marquis Scholar award. 3.95 GPA, 33 ACT (34 SS), lots of AP/IB classes and heavy theater involvement. The personalized letters are so nice!

Got my letter today!! From NY

After so many rejections and waitlists… Finally I got my Lafayette acceptance today!! From PA btw.

Son got his acceptance today (Mechanical Engineering, 1410 SAT, 3.8 UGPA, 5s on most AP exams, including BC Calculus, URM). What an admission letter! I love that it was so personal. We were very excited, but no financial aid or scholarship was given. I’m quite shocked that they deemed us able to pay $66K per year. (After I pay bills, there’s nowhere near that amount left) Unfortunately he’s likely to push this to the bottom of the pile, as he got a likely from Duke and we anticipate admission to Dartmouth as well. Both are allegedly generous with their aid. Plus, he has scholarships covering the bulk of the costs at the other schools he’s been admitted to. It’s a bit bittersweet because Lafayette is the one place that he said “he could see himself fitting.”

I was denied but its ok… I was accepted to Bates college ,U of Rochester, .Im excited about those. … All the best to those accepted

DS received his acceptance in Washington State today. I felt he had a good chance to earn merit aid, but unfortunately admissions did not agree. This was the last notification, so now he gets to review the offers and decide where he will be attend.

S accepted as Marquis Scholar. 3.95 GPA. 34 ACT; mostly AP classes; strong music, science and math background. Very excited, and phenomenal, personal letter from admissions!

Any word on when internationals are getting a reply?

One twin received acceptance letter yesterday. Loved how personalized it was. Other twin did not and has almost identical stats. the one who was accepted had a higher SAT by 20 points! Sad that they both weren’t accepted. I saw another set of twins up thread where one was accepted and one was waitlisted, so that is interesting to me. One who was accepted had 1500 SAT, 34 ACT, all STEM and IB HS program. 3.6 UW GPA and 4.1 weighted. three season varsity athlete with two seasons as captain. I believe the essay was very strong. Not sure if my son will attend without his brother, but do plan to go to accepted student day on 4/23.

College is a business #1 folks. S waitisted b/c we have a need and 3 in college next yr. HIs stats: 1440 1, 780, 780, 2 3.94 unweighted, top 2% of class in MA, all 5 on AP’s. Founded clubs, great EC, looks like Davidson for a full ride. We did like Lafayette, but like many of the schools that use need in their admit formulas, he wasn’t admitt Good Luck!

Not sure I agree with this. Lafayette meets full need of any admitted student. We have need and my daughter was admitted.

I was admitted but with $0 of aid. Our income bracket is under $130,000, so I don’t understand how they expect us to pay $66,000 a year!

Did you fill out the FAFSA and the CSS profile??
