Languages.

I’ve got a few questions:

I’ve been taking spanish since 7th grade and right now I’m in honors. Will I take be put in higher level spanish classes because I want to continue it.

I also want to learn a new language. I was considering Mandarin and/or French. Can someone give me any information regarding these courses?

Thanks.

Good luck getting answers:) I was also wondering about the first question because I am almost certain I will not get a 3+ on the AP exam.

Your language placement will be based on your Regents grade (or third-year course grade, if you're not a New York resident) first, then any AP or college credit. If you have at least an 85 on the exam, then you place into Intermediate I of whatever language you've taken.

If you're interested in starting a new language, you can do that at any point; for most languages, Elementary I is given in the fall, and II in the spring. (Same with Intermediate, for languages that have a four-semester track.)

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

I got a 91 on my Regents in 10th grade. So I'm still put in Intermediate I right?

Yep.
