I have some credits from a few semesters I did at an international university a few years ago, and now I’m taking classes at a CCC. I have a couple incomplete grades from math classes at the international university (eg calc II, stuff that will transfer)- can I repeat those courses at a ccc? how will they affect my gpa? Thanks!
btw I’m transferring for Sociology, have a 4.0 after 2 semesters at my CCC but a 2.5 from my international transcript…
Definitely speak to your counselor to see what the rules are in your school. You should be able to retake a class if you failed it. After retaking the class, the new grade you receive will replace your old one in your GPA. They might even let you sign a petition/form to remove incomplete grade in your GPA like an academic renewal. I did academic renewal in my school and it replaces all my Fs and Ds I had in my overall GPA. Even for the classes that I never retook. I believe you can only do them once so choose when you want to do that wisely. I don’t know what your school’s rules are but you should definitely try to retake those classes to raise your GPA.
Calculus is considered standardized so retaking a calc should suffice. However, I’m not the articulations dept. Your best bet is to have a UC rep go over the classes in question and provide feedback.
Thanks for the responses! I guess my main question is around repeating courses with a grade of “Incomplete.” The best I can find is that you cannot repeat classes with an “I” grade, but since they convert to “F” when you submit your application I was hoping that a repeat could be counted.
