Laptop Dell Battery

Hi, my laptop battery is currently out of power and it has recommended me to replace a new one from an electronic store or an online order. I was wondering if it's possible for me not to get a new one if I just leave the charger charging my computer forever. Will it live without a new battery or must I get a new one?

What kind of warranty do you have? The battery might be covered.

I have had a bunch of problems with my Dell laptop and the representatives in the online chat were always really helpful.

Anyway, you can just buy a battery off eBay for ~$30.

Im not a dell laptop owner but i had an HP and I always had it charging like that, it was always conected and it burnt my computer soo idk i suggest you get a new battery

I work in computer repair and i suggest you get a new battery

You can always leave it plugged in. My dell laptop batteries only last me a semester for some god forsaken reason and my dad will only replace them once a year, so for 6 months out of the year my battery is dead. This computer is almost four years old and still working fine.

My laptop is plugged in 24/7 when it’s sitting on my desk. I never really need more than 5 minutes of battery time, so I decided to ignore the your-battery-is-about-to-die warning and didn’t replace it. No regrets yet.

Dannyp32: Is that a cheap place where I can order a laptop battery compared to the original store?

We have Dell laptops. We’ve replaced 2 batteries and my H’s battery is dead. He had been just leaving it plugged in, but once in a while, the screen goes black, is hard to restart and a message comes up about the battery ?! (Even though it was plugged in - even switched power cords in case that was an issue). He’s ordering on now.

I agree - EBAY is the cheapest place. Thats where our extra’s came from & they work great.
