Is it advisable to bring my own printer for my computer? If one doesn't have a printer, where would he/she print stuff and how much does it cost?

bring your own printer. printing is very expensive (i think 8 or so cents a sheet). you could print in any computer labs or libraries.

Not really. If you do the math, inket printers tend to cost more than 10 cents a page.

but having your own printer is more convenient...

Perhaps. If you do work in your dorm room.

I guess since I'm in a triple I probably won't be doing too much work in my dorm room. Do most kids have printers? If you print at the library or computer labs, do you have to wait for a long time to access a printer? Can you use big red bucks to pay for this? Also, how convenient are the computer labs or library to the dorms on north campus? Thanks....

Most kids have printers... I would strongly advise you to have your own printer out of sheer convenience. It is a pain in the ass to continually run to a computer lab every time you need to print something. Get your own printer.

9 cents per sheet actually. Just wanted to clarify.

definitely adds up when you have to print out multiple 10+ page papers

Any particular printer that you guys recommend?

HP, all-in-one printers. From peronal experiences, would strongly recommend them. On a sidenote, why is this thread titled "laptops"?!?

Most kids have printers....some roomies also share the cost of one...but this can create problems at the end of the year.

The for the printer isn't long since most libraries/computer labs have multiple printers.

You can't use BRBs to pay...BRBs are for food only. The cost shows on your bursar bill and you pay it out of pocket.

I never lived on North so I don't know if there are computer labs or printers up there. The closest I can think of would be Malott Hall in the Math Library.

There are computer labs in RPCC and Appel Commons.

Get one for the convenience. There are times when you need to get a paper submitted and you simply don't have the time to head to a library or computer lab. The printer should last you your entire college career, so it's well worth the investment (which isn't that big to begin with).

the computer labs on north inside rpcc, appel, and clara dickson hall are very nice and come in handy...

only problem is they tend to be packed...people who do have computers end up here just b/c it's a better work environment...

get your work done early!!!
