<p>I think they will consider whatever you put on your 2nd choice in the major selection. If you didn’t put anything and is rejected from engineering comp sci, then you would be considered for general engineering / undeclared.</p>
<p>With engineering you are considered for chosen major and usually a second and then if rejected engineering you are considered for Division of General Studies not computer science in LAS. Also, it would be a misconception to believe the LAS computer science middle 50% ranges are the ones shown for LAS in general. It is one of those majors in LAS that has a higher rank/test score middle 50% range than the college’s range and it is actually close to that for engineering.</p>

<p>I would say apply for engineering CS, you can always get into LAS:CS&Math easily later on.</p>
