Last minute application

I decided to apply to Wesleyan on a whim, but I haven't requested the professor recs. Is it OK to turn in supplemental materials after the stated deadline?

Clarification: I have talked to my professors about the possibility of needing a rec later but haven't given them the forms because I wasn't sure about applying this year.

I think everything has to be postmarked by the deadline - March 15th.

It is usually okay for the recs etc. to lag the actual application by a bit. YMMV.

As long as your Fee, Common app, and supplement are in by the 15th you are fine. Some schools, ie) Georgetown and Hopkins have not even started processing their apps.

Thanks! but by how many days can the recs and transcripts lag?

There are not set # days, 'tis. Just give the rec form to the profs and tell them as soon as possible after 3/15. Order the transcripts now and you'll be fine.

Many schools with March transfer deadlines don't really begin to deal with them until after April 1 because they are slammed with the freshman admit process until then. Again, no guarantees, but that is a common time frame.

I'm thrilled by the prospect of ending up there next year, especially since my decision to apply was so spontaneous.
