I submitted all my other materials on time to all my schools, including the the fee, the common app, and all supplements. I sent out requests to all my teachers to send in letters of recommendations weeks ago; however, they have had trouble receiving these requests and haven't been able to submit their recommendations until today!! I'm not too worried about this matter for some of my schools, because (as far as I know) they seem to allow a grace period in which to send in certain materials, as long as your app is in by the deadline. However, I am extremely concerned about Columbia University, as they explicitly state in their instructions to have all recommendations submitted by Jan. 1. If anyone could shed some light on how universities deal with late letters of recommendation, particularly Columbia University, I would greatly appreciate it!! I'm freaking out over here.

Freaking out here too. One of my teachers has not submitted, and I’m applying to Columbia too…I would see your guidance counselor tomorrow assuming you have school.
